It's just a rumor. I'm somewhat disappointed but kinda happy because King Vegeta, all of Planet Vegeta along with almost all the saiyans (except a few) were killed by Freiza around the time when Goku was sent to Earth. and if King Vegeta showed up at the end of the film would kinda...screw the story up and possibly create more bad reactions from the fans.
