It’s great that he’s enthusiastic about the role, I’m sure he’ll do a great job as Piccolo. Now I’m just wondering why the people at Fox are being such assholes about releasing anything on the movie though.

“They won’t even let me talk about what happened in the anime 15 years ago” lol. James is so funny, and your absolutely right CJB, the people at Fox are assholes. He seems very enthusiastic like you said and something that caught my attention was he talked about the sequels. He said he didn’t need to be real buff because he was playing an older character, King Piccolo, then he transforms and will be in two more sequels. It seems were getting alot of interviews and clips with Marsters than anybody else, where in the hell is Chatwin and Rossum? I want to hear something from them too, anyway, this was a nice find. I give my thanks to k.ool for finding it.

if fox is being so secretive about this movie is because they really care about it, if they didnt have much faith in it then i dont think they would be as secretive and weird as they are

OMG, this seals the deal. I love James Marsters! He’s so awesome and enthusiastic for the film (and the possible sequels) that now I’M getting really excited, as well!
Good thing, too, because with all this waiting and nothing official coming our way for a while . . . I’d been getting a bit jaded about it all, haha.

Wait a sec…Did he say he is going to play old piccolo in the first movie and in the next two he is going to be younger.Does this mean all the trilogy is gona be about the king piccolo saga or does he mean that in the next movies he is going to be playing the piccolo whe know in dragonball Z.If it;s the first man then…..i dont know i rally want to see Vegeta and Freeza and super sayan in the next movies not only piccolo saga

I think he plays old at first then in the climax he becomes younger, then spits out an egg like in the anime. Jizzz!!

Either that, or he was referring to what happened in the DB manga: King Piccolo was old and made a wish on the Dragonballs to be young and have his powers restored once more. *shrug*

The BEST thing about this little speech is who James keeps refering to!
“Steve”, i.e Steven Chow, keeps telling him to shut up about the film. He does not refer to James Wong! This might mean that Chow has a lot more of a role than we thought he might do!

All of my doubts about Marsters are gone, he will make a great Piccolo. And I can understand Fox saying shut-up. They want things to be a secret, and I can’t blame them, and they don’t want anyone to talk about DB for fear that they might slip up. Also there are some people out there that don’t know what happens, so I guess it could ruin the film. Anyway, so nice to hear James.

The Steve he’s probably referring to is his manager, Steve Himber.
I’m deaf and *dying* to know what James says in this clip. Can anyone take pity on me and put me out of my misery? Was this just shot tonight at the San Diego indifest where James performed his music?

Well, I’ll give you the gist of it. I’m just paraphrasing.
* James says he can’t reveal much and “Fox apparently said I can’t even tell you the story of the cartoon which aired 15 years ago and which you can buy at any video store, so it doesn’t make any sense to me and they’re being weird.”
* “As far as I’m concerned, Dragonball and Dragonball Z and Dragonball GT are the coolest cartoons in the last 50,000 years. Who agrees with me?”
* He mentions playing the old Piccolo in this one, and maybe the young Piccolo in the sequels.
Sorry I’m too lazy to write everything he says, but that’s the important parts…

Cooper son other stuff that was said:
First someone makes a joke about how the movie is costing 100 million to make and 94 million will go towards painting piccolo green (this is at the very beggining).
He also says how he thinks piccolo is the best character.
He also talks about how he didn’t think he was good for the role because piccolo is big and comapred to him he’s small. he told his son (who’s a big DB fan) “if they cast me as piccolo, it’s gonna suck. cause they’re not doing it right.” and his son agreed.
Best part for me he:
“first movie he’s an old man so that I can do. and the second 2 are a bit away and I’m gonna figure it out don’t worry. I’m gonna rock them… the house. I am gonna eat that role alive. ah guys, this is gonna be so… ah!
And the whole time he is very excited and you can tell that he’s a fan and that he’s going to do the role right. Hope that helps!

This is it, everything is word for word what James said, but except for the foreign woman who was talking at the beginning…not my fault.
Foreign Woman: If you can’t comment on DragonBall, you won’t be able to comment on sets.
James interupts her: The only thing I can say about Dragonball is…
Woman interupts James: That for example a 100 million budget, 94 million is going to be spent on painting you green.
James: Drag…This is what I say about Dragonball, and Steve has been up my ass about Dragonball all day. Shut up about Dragonball, you can’t say anything about Dragonball. He won’t even let me, apparently 20th Century Fox won’t even let me tell you what happened in the cartoon 15 years ago…so damn cruel. I knew James was excited about this role, but seeing his enthusiasm is precious. I have have no doubt he’ll kill as Piccolo and am certain he raised the bar for the rest of the cast’s performances during filming. He’s a very generous actor who gives his all to a role and can’t wait to see him get the mainstream recognition he deserves as a big screen player.
And adam, I wouldn’t kid about being deaf. A bad reaction to a pharmaceutical and a wonky immune system f**ked my auditory nerves up 25 years ago. I hear some sounds, but my brain can’t make sense of them.

james i dont hate the idea of a movie i would love to see it!!!!!!!!!-more than anything!!!-it just seems like more and more bad news and recycled rumors and info!!!-nothing to keep me intrested!?-i feel let down as a fan w/o getting anything to make me hyped or keep my hopes up?????-sniffle-one pic worth while would give me a ray of hope to look foward to this if its ever really coming out?-they film whole movies sometimes then trash the project-examples-punisher,day of the dead etc………..one movie that is changeing a few things but still keeping fans updated and happy is gi.joe!!!-the snake eyes pic was amazing and will tide me over till 2009 summer!-guys i am the biggest dragon ball fan ever!!!!!-sinse 89-till now!-i even have majin vegeta tattooed on my leg for crying out load!-but, i sadly feeling more disappointed everyday!?-no pics nothing to feed our imaginations……….so sad-they feed us crappy info and crappy pics!!!-no krillian probably let down atleast 20 million fans……….-that alone ruins goku and whole db universe.-chatwin better step up his game and gives a ray of hope from his actions give us something soon……..

It seems like he is ubber exited about the movie and thinks its going to be a hit.
I agree, i dont think fox would waist there time making such a well known and popular cartoon series into a piece of crap live action movie.
I’m almost positive this is going to be a huge successful movie even with the minor flaws such as krillin. ^^
