Dragonball’s Producer Speaks (SPOILERS)
Tim Van Rellim, Dragonball’s executive producer, recently spoke to a Durango newspaper, which Movieland posted. The article contains MAJOR PLOT SPOILERS if true.
Tim Van Rellim reveals that Goku dies in the beginning of the second part of Dragonball
At least that’s what recently commented Tim Van Rellim, producer of Dragon Ball, in an exclusive chat in el Siglo of Durango, in which he spelled out precisely the death of the protagonist will be the beginning of the second part of the story, it it is also very likely to be recorded in Durango.
“Durango has been a phenomenal place to record. We had many sets and the truth never felt paparazzis or harassment of the press and elsewhere and in other productions. It is a very quiet place, we were treated very well, “he said.
The producer of the film confessed that three movies are scheduled for history, the second of which is in the process of planning. “It is not yet confirmed, but it is more than likely that the costs billed in this city will bring us back.”
Another source of production reported that the blue skies of Durango is another very important reason. “In New Zealand there are very similar skies, but the sets are infested with Power Rangers.”
“Dragon Ball was an experience. We are very happy to have held only time we plan. There were not many setbacks, as only surprises when we were recording in Mexiquillo, but those are go with the job. ”
AT END OF YEAR PREMIERE PRODUCTION OF THE SECOND PARTWhen asked how long until the second part begins, the producer said he hoped to resume his post at the end of this year.
PREMIERES: Summer or October?
“We hurried, and the premiere will [hopefully] be in the summer or October at the latest.” (?)
It is now expected, because the following projects come with more purpose, i.e. with more shooting interiors than field. I hope to be back over here, we tried really hard [and it's been] incredible. ”
The behavior of the members of the cast, the producer said that he noticed them excited, but that it would not deliver trials of its performance before the cameras.
“That it is up to the director. I saw them many times and could only say wonderful things from them, “he concluded.
Although the translation isn’t perfect, we can clearly see that they are planning sequels, and that the first movies release date may not be so final after all.

Sweet! That’s pretty awesome news. But if it premieres this year, does that mean that it will be coming to theatres sooner than April 8th, 2009? Because most movies premiere a couple weeks before the actual movie releases in theatres.

it never does say goku dies… it says the protagonist will but i think it might just be a bad translation and what it really means is that piccolo dies cuz in a way he does and this could all just be one big huge miss understanding. I bet you anything that what he really ment is piccolo dies cuz i really don’t think that they would kill off goku unless it was the reason to use the dragon ball to wish him back. But what it says is

It doesn’t actually say that its goku so it could be piccolo.

@nikooo: I think they are *really* pushing this trilogy idea, though. They want to get people excited for the second and third movies, which I think they have more faith in since it’s Dragonball Z and not Dragonball.
This is just my opinion though, it’s not fact.

Presuming that the second movie is about the saiyan attack, then yes, Goku does die. If he dies before Raditz, then I’m thinking the plot will focus on how helpless Earth is, and then there would be one KICKASS war with the saiyans and the human armies.

…. There not going to put it out this year, Trust me!!!! This is a big budget movie and there is no way there going to make it a Summer/Fall 2008 release. There hasn’t been any advertisement yet remember? If you believe that it is coming October this year then you have to support the Summer release to. He never said the first Dragonball movie will premiere this year. He was probally talking about a 2009 Summer/fall release or maybe it was just a bad translation!! I think he was trying to explain how they might start filming the Dragonball sequal in October. They probally just translate it wrong!!

This christina inman already said the release date is set in stone and that its too soon to talk sequels they are waiting to see if this movie does well….yall really think that not even two months after wrapping the film and before pre production even ends that fox would already be planing another possibly 100 million dollar sequel? im not a movie expert like you coreywilson10 but lets use some logic for this one…this news is bogus.

The only important news was Goku dying in the beginning of the second part of Dragonball… aka Dragonball Z (whether they’ll keep the Z or just say 2???) And honestly, I don’t know what to think because the translation isn’t that great either, but thanks for trying anyway Adam
And just to let some of you know, Hoycinema hasn’t lied or given false information concerning Dragonball so far…that’s something you can rely on I think. But I could be wrong

yes they have been reliable and I love movieland they hook us up with alot of news , but i just cant 100 percent belive all this information…what if this movie bombs in the box office…fox would already be filming the second movie based on this information…also this would mean they have a script ready or they are planning it which is probably so the qriters are probably brainstorming…but even if they are they changed alot about the first movie….i think they will significantly change the saiyan saga aswell…its my opinion that this news is false.

It appears Movieland was wrong, and filming will conclude March 15th instead of March 9th. They say the cast will leave Durango at different dates, and the first is Chow Yun-Fat (Master Roshi) on March 7th. All of the cast will have left by March 15th.
A few readers have also said there is a possibility of a Dragonball trailer on March 21st, during the film Shutter. I don’t know if there’s any truth to this, but it’s possible since Shutter is being released by 20th Century Fox

@DBZFan11: Things changed with what was happening on set, they were never wrong, and he said it would wrap by March 15th, not exactly on that day. Stuff like that is unpredictable, but he still gave us a very accurate and reliable date. Who cares if it’s a couple extra days? Things change all the time on set, something could go wrong at any time. Don’t bring childish things like that up. And the thing about Shutter were just rumors and he very clearly stated that, he never said it was official…cause if he did I would’ve been there opening night. Did you misunderstand what I said? Name something he said was true that turned out to be false.

and my moms a movie producer i grew up around movie sets so i have a pretty good idea on how much changes during a filming duration…movieland probably had a good source that told them the movie would wrap on a certain date…things have to be reshot all kinds of things to delay a movie wrapping..movieland is human and its okl to make mistakes all im saying is their info is not always 100 percent concrete info….usually no website is like that.

The producer said that the movie will be released on this summer or at the very late October (of this year) because they still start filming the sequel at the end of THIS year. Thats what it says in spanish. The translation is correct.

well if you remember Goku dies in the saiyan saga when piccilo kills raditz but also has to kill Goku to do so. So it makes since that they are saying he will die in the 2nd movie. Which just means he would have to do training with king kai, before he comes back to beat off nappa, and vegeta which vegeta would be the biggest fight scene in the second movie.

And Corey, you say that Dragonball isn’t getting enough advertising right now and that means its not coming this year? Let me introduce you to a little friend called “Indiana Jones IV.” They pretty much didn’t start promoting it until January or February 2008 and the movie comes out this May.
It is perfectly reasonable for the movie to come out this year. My best bet (if it is indeed coming this year) would be October.

Fox gave them a deadline of August 15th. They went to Fox and asked for more time for post production. Fox agreed and set the date to April 3rd. They saw that April 8th was Easter so they moved it to April 8th.

So, he says they will finish post production as quick as possible so the movie will be released this year, and so that they can get to work on the second movie at the end of this year or early next year.
That’s what I understand if this article is true, which at the moment it seems to be.

Like I said Do we have a clue of how Goku is going to be like in Dragonball? No!! It’s April and we still haven’t got any idea. We are starting to get to know Piccolo. Which is good, because it’s making the anticipation go up. The reason why they advertise little on Indiana Jones, because we already have an ideal what’s it about. We need to get to know are characters from the movie. October is way to early and so is August. December is ok, but 2009 is much better. People need anticipation Adam!!

If this is real all i can say is….YAY!!!! That date isnt set in stone and we could get it this year
i was never on board with the april release date so this makes me happy even if its fake 
we should know within the next month or so if its gonna be released this year so… with all the spoilers and leaks out there i cant imagine they’d keep the one year release date it just makes no sense theres just to much at risk of more leaks.
