Well, seems like it’s legit, then! It’s a cool teaser poster, I suppose. My only fan-gripe is that it would’ve been cool if they took a leaf outta the original manga, which stated that the dragonballs didn’t have actual painted on lil stars, but had the essence of various stars or whatever in them. Hmm.
Oh, well. BRING ON THE PROMOTIONAL MACHINE, FOX!

@Adam: Why do you have so much faith in it? And I’ll come clean, I think it’s real, but I’m hoping to God it isn’t. It’s not what it needs to be, this phony picture looks so, well phony!!! It seems more realistic cause it seems like it was taken in Japan, and looks to be taken in a theatre, and why would someone go through the trouble to make two of them, which are pretty detailed and creative. I dunno, but it’s too cheap for a real poster, aww damn, and I said I wouldn’t complain…

the japan one looks real..but it looks like someone took similarities from the japan teaser and created a mock american version….just my opinion if you think im wrong just quote the Dude and say “Well thats like your opinion…man” yeah dude totally looks like its taken at a theater…which is tight

@Matthew: Which is weird, because a looonnngg while ago, I remember seeing a poorly made fan poster with that EXACT phrase on it. In fact, there’s a live action DB movie club on deviantART which also has had that phrase on their layout-thing for months now. Um. Did Fox steal it or something? XD Or maybe that phrase was originally from the reallllyyy old 2000-ish DBZ poster that debuted on Funi’s (I think it was Funi’s) official DBZ site thing? And Fox decided to keep it? Dunno.

The text on the japanese version is slanted the exact same way. It’s just the way the poster is designed.
And there’s very little chance this is fake. If it is, it’s the best fake ever.

The way Dragonball is slanted makes it seem that the text above is not parallel with it. and plus the way the picture is tilted it just made me think for a second that the poster was fake….but about the american version does anyone notice the coming soon posters in the backround? to the left and right of the dragonball?

that’s what I’m talking about, this seems like the part of the movie theatre with all the posters on the wall, when you’re heading into the theatres.
The poster itself, or rather, the camera, seems to be on a slant. That’s was messing up the text. It looks like the poster is not quite straight in the case, or the poster it’s a “wrap-around” case.

and hey yeah i could be very wrong and the american one is official which i like, i hope im wrong cuzz my thing is i don’t care about the hair of the characters, the costumes, or teaser posters etc. i care about this movie and cant wait to see it!! love DBZ and DB…and what this really means if teaser posters are coming out now is A. We are going to get a teaser soon!! and B. Promotional material will be out sooner than we all expected. im pumped about this even more than when the leaked photos from Movieland came out.

What’s that thing in the reflection. Hmm I have a feeling this might be an elaborate prank… looks like someone just took a picture of a computer screen. The words aren’t parallel. Did they ever mention who took this picture… or WHERE it was taken?

yeah these posters , specially the first ones are not suppose to be the very best in the world, they are only there so people would know that thers a movie comming with that title. Until they have a trailer, then they start bringing out the kick ass posters. So people plz, stop with the ” this poster sucks ” crap, its anoying.

Im pretty sure its real guys…. buttttttt i think this might be one of many early teaser posters before the official release date was set..notise it doesnt say anything about april..just 2009..
but two things you need to notise is that ONE-whats that black line under the A in the wording dragonball?
and TWO someone would have to had takin this picture side ways,notise the date? im not aware of any cameras that show the date lined up on the side like that..
other than that im pretty sure its real, it looks real, i dont know how much more real you could get, and remember its just a teaser.

That thing in the left hand corner looks like a reflection, maybe another poster in the theater? Kinda resmbles The Dark Knight poster, maybe it’s Speed Racer? I dunn, but I hope we’ll get some more information on this poster soon.

Hmmm… this is actually pretty lame for a teaser poster. It looks fan-made. Even the title fonts don’t look right. It’s almost like someone made their own, then took a picture of it to pass it off as an official poster in a theatre somewhere. And yes, I do think a fan would go through this much trouble for a hoax. If not, this movie might be in danger of getting some terrible marketing.
Do we even know where these pictures were even taken? It seems odd that they’re distributing posters already.
And personally, I was hoping they would re-invent the look of the dragon balls for this movie. I always imagined that in live-action, the balls would retain their orange crystal look, but the stars would be replaced by glowing orbiting sprites inside the ball. The stars on the outside look too cartoonish for this.

An after-thought…
In some early character notes, they specified that Goku’s four-star Dragonball would be changed to a three-star for this movie. If that’s the case, they wouldn’t make a poster with the four-star ball on it.
I’m 100% positive this is fan-made now.

I think this poster awnsered alot of questions! The Dragonball Z poster 6 years ago failed to do that. I think this has to be the best teasor poster by far. It tells us so much! We know that they decided to call it “Dragonball”. We also know Dragonball will be out 2009. The question that im wondering about is what is the sequal going to be called? Dragonball: The saiyan saga or Dragonball Z???? I guess it’s not important right now….

corey you really think this is a good teaser poster??? the dark knight and transformers were both about 10 times better than this and looked great, I didnt care for either of those films before i saw the posters of those but they made me think they could be cool movies….this film I care alot for but this poster makes me think bad bad bad bad things for this movie, just look at the logo!!!!!
I studied graphic design (altho i dropped out becuase I didnt think it challenged me enough) and this realy isnt very professional looking at all

superherhype.com just posted today the pictures of the international poster and us poster for db the movie…this site usually has reliable sources but they have the release date wrong dont know what to think but since that site is credible i think the posters are real.

I think you’re right - I’m in marketing myself, and I can see this being the Japanese poster. But the American one doesn’t look authentic at all. Not to mention the Dragonball and clouds look like clip art.
I really preferred the DBZ teaser poster from years back.

Transformers teaser poster was just the logo of the transformers. It cant be 10 times better than this. No way.

If this does turn out to be real, then it’ll be one of the few movies I’ve seen where the production tries to keep the characters from the poster.
But once again, maybe further down the line Fox will come up with a foolish spurt of courage and decide to make one with the characters on it.
