Dragonball Movie Podcast Episode 4
Wow, this one’s a doozy! Craigdbfan joins me for a 40 minute discussion (what!?) on the movie and all that it entails. It may be long, but I think it’s our best podcast yet.
Not only do we discuss the latest news over the last two weeks, but we also have a very fun discussion on almost everything regarding the movie, including some things that haven’t been covered yet. It’s probably the first podcast I actually recommend listening to. Music from the podcast is from Nine Inch Nails’ new album The Slip, available now for free, so go get it.
By the way, it looks like Fox has moved Dragonball’s release date yet again to April 10th, 2009 from April 8th. This makes a little more sense to me since it’s a Friday.

purrttyy good, i heard allot of good stuff, i didnt know anything about any love scenes so thats interesting. haha. but deff hope the movie does well. I think it deserves it, its a great story, very captivating, great action. I mean theres nothing really to not like about it. It all just depends on how they deliver the film and how well the actors stay true to there roll.

Craig, you need to stop moving back and forth from the microphone. Either that or you need to get a new mic…the constant volume dipping was really annoying after a while.
Other than that, it’s a solid podcast.

10 more months until Dragonball is out, Yessss!!
I was surprise to see Craig on the podcast. Craig is pretty cool! I thought this podcast was ok. I was looking forward to you guys telling us some new news or something to get me hyped. I think you guys made alot of good pointers and I agree with everything you guys said. There’s only one topic I disagreed with. I like X-men alot, but if they make Dragonball like X-men Im gonna be pissed. Dragonball needs to do something different like Iron man did. They have to make it real as possible, while staying true to the show.

My guess is probably July, because I think there going to start advertising big time after The Dark knight comes out.

Yea it was a pretty good podcast. One thing that really kinda bugged me was craig was talking kinda slow with a lot of “ummm” and “uhhh” in between. Sorry craig I’m jus being honest. Other than that I was pretty cool with it. Ikinda figured there would be another news drought after that picture surfaced last week so a good long podcast was wat we needed. Thanks.

I have a feeling that due to the very short filming period and very long post-production, we are going to get a great visual feast for the eyes but a lack in good acting performance…
I mean, we’ve been hearing great things about everyone’s stunt-work and how hard Marster’s has been working with stunts, and the music by a DBZ fan, and the visual effects being done with the people making Wolverine etc etc…but we’ve heard nothing on the acting front.
When all is said and done, a good script and acting performance are what really matters.
Speaking of script, isn’t anyone else worried that some dude called “Ben Ramsey” wrote the main script? I mean, who the hell is this guy? He’s only every written two movies, “Love and a Bullet” and “The Big Hit” which are apparently very average movies according to imdb..

Excellent podcast, i like how you guys covered a huge array of ideas and news around the movie. Awesome job and once again awesome site.
In regards to a trailer i think it’ll go something like this; a teaser trailer will be released with the premiere of The Dark Knight because there is MUCH more hype with marketing, ALSO VIRAL MARKETING, with that particular movie than with other summer movies like The Incredible Hulk.
This is would be an ideal marketing strategy in my mind, but even if this is not the case I would be glad to see ANYTHING from the movie this summer

@Jnas: Dude, just because the guy wrote only two movie scripts means nothing. I mean sure, he’s not as experienced, but who knows? If he hasn’t completely screwed up the movie with its script, he’s got James Marsters to help him out (lol) and He could always look at the anime and Manga and other fighting movies for good dialogue, etc. But if the guy has only done two movies, and both mediocre, then I’dd say he isn’t half bad, at least he didn’t 3pic phail at anything ,so I think we’re okay.

But like Adam said there’s others who talk shit if you don’t have the RIGHT opinion, if they don’t agree with you they’ll let you know the hard way.
But back to this, I thought that would be better to have it on a Friday opening… Since most movies do anyway

Yeah, when either Adam or Craig mentioned about people r going to complain is soo true. no matter what or how the movie comes out to be, even if it is goin to be a great epic flim, people are goin to complain. its just what americans do, we love to complain. but im not complaining!
haha i have total faith in this movie! n great podcast today Adam and Craig! i totally agree with ALOT of the things u guys were talkin bout. soo yeah, again, good stuff!

i liked this podcast, and yes i listened to the whole thing. i agree with you guys about how no matter what you do people will complain. i know that is true no matter what type of area it is in, be it entertainment or something else.

Speed Racer’s really good though. The main difference between speed and dragon ball is that people expected speed to rock the box office, but it kinda didn’t… Everyone expects db to be the next Doa or something. And from where I sit it could go either way from what I’m seeing. It’s so hard to be enthusiastic about this because hollywood’s raped franchises like this so many times before. At least Jamie Chung and Rossum and Mai will be good eye candy and perhaps Marsters will be a shining jewel in a rotten turd like Skeletor was in he-man. Best villain performance of all time.

Craigs voice kept getting louder and then you could barely hear him, I think something was wrong with his mic. But other than that, good podcast guys. Pretty long lol, but I learned alot of new stuff. Keep it up!

Just saw “Speed Racer.” It was horrible, and unfortunately our predictions on it were right. Only hard-core fans would have liked it.

Ok here’s how it is, the reason why speed racer did so bad was because it was literally for kids.kids these days don’t like kid’s movies anyway.anime is not for kids so hows going to watch it?gay’s? lol. there’s no audience to begin with.if it was more serious it would have done better. or if it was a full on anime like advent childern it would have done way better.hollywood need to learn that anime is very tricky to make in to live action. there’s just some things in anime that you could never do in real life, like star for a whole hour or be over over exagerate in real life, or a bump in the head. that stuff don’t happen in real life.American’s like to have a reason for every thing. Americans like fantasy but they don’t like to be over exaggerated because if it is it’s not “realistic enough”.it sounds kind of contradictive but thats how it is. i will give you a perfect example superman, in the old comic superman was so strong he could blow out the sun with one blow. “Americans” thought thats kinda over board to say some thing like that. imagine superman being so strong that he can move the plants with one finger, that would be stupid thats too exaggerated.but anime on the other hand has lots of that kind of stuff, kind of. American’s cartoons are just as hard, would you really want to see the Japanese making a live action family guy.we would be so worried if they got our jokes,of if they would add there kind of humor to it. would they make it to realistic or too random. it’s the same thing. us as anime fans are”Japanese” we are worried what the Americans”hollywood”is going to do with “our” movie. we just have to hope they don’t screw it up.
fox carries shows like Family guy and the Simpson’s there’s no way Roshi’s going to stay in his shell lol. I’m kinda glad that they got rid of the cat and the pig in the movie. it just shows you how serious they want to make this movie.even better speed racer did do so well maybe they will focus on dragon ball harder. and i hope they show Bulma showing some kind of interest in Goku… come no he’s the savior of the world and Bulma is a hoe, it would be vary unrealistic if she didn’t. and it’s not going to be like the anime so brace your selfs anime fans. i hope it like matrix and lord of the rings put to get there that would be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

i think it going to be a awsome movie if they for the most part stick to the series plot and venture off into someother bs but being the DBZ fan i im idont think its go to be possible for me to miss this movie even if doesnt stick to the story but i could understand like how u guys where saying that there are somethings in animaie that just couldnt be transleted well into the movie ( when go blasts him self through king piccolo and coughs up an egg!!!!) and as 4 justin chatwin being the world savior GOKU i jus dont know but i have my hopes. but the biggest thing thats gettin 2 me is how are the going to do the hair without making it look like the have big stupid wigs on??? as 4 the flying and khamahama attacks i think if they could do transformers they can do alot espically with the 100 million that have… oh and it would very cool if somehow they like how adam was saying that a 25 min stairdown wouldnt be possible but i think they should some how incorperate it that would be awsome

Im a true fan and i understand what has been done by the Dragonball and Dragonball z dream and for what i have seen so far this film is a big steaming pile of dog shit im offended that the producers would even consider the thought of even giving it to that complete waste of dog shit justin chatwin use your head might as well in the next film give the role of vegeta to jennifer lopez and what the fuck is ernie hudson doing in this even as the role of mister popo it is a dipshit rich white man mistake some one who obviously hates anime genre is working on putting all the wrong non profile fitting characters together so far chuw yun fat was expected well a little but certainlly not as the role of master roshi imagine the possibilties of broly even the level 2 super saiyan,espically level 3 super saiyan for that matter now think can we see justin chatwin fuckhead standing with some of the best characters and the greatest battles ever, king piccolo better be evil its never been seen in films like this bad and bulma better have a nice chest,yamcha PLEASE ill be happy when his arms finally get broken if the story line pulls through until then hit me up
