V-Jump and Roadshow Scans
Dukemon and the 2ch boards posted early scans from the V-Jump and Roadshow Japanese magazines, giving us our first look at Chow Yun-Fat as Master Roshi, as well as more pics of Goku and Bulma.
These two scans were taken from Roadshow, which were supposed to be released July 7th.

Aha! Way Cool! Thanks for the update! Now if we could get a translation sometime soon… I wonder why they chose to steer clear of the facial hair on Roshi…seems like an odd thing to change. Either way, I’m loving the outfit that Chow Yun Fat it sporting as Roshi in that photo.

Oh, gee, that looks so neat. I love Roshi’s outfit, though it’s different seeing him with hair. But I do agree with Krillin, the Hawaiian print shirt rocks. It’s also neat getting a more lengthy image of the Bulma and Goku together picture.

They pulled off Roshi man pretty good. He’ll most likely wear sunglasses in the movie so don’t worry guys.

Well she has a strand of blue in her hair but im not sure why its not completely blue, in my opinion its better not to have it blue because it would look kind of weird in a real movie but thats just in my opinion.

@Dpen: I honestly believe if we can get scans from a magizne that isnt even supposed to be available until july 7, I think its only a matter of time until we will see piccolo, we just have to be patient and be grateful for the information we have now.

Sorry, and I don’t want to sound like a dumbass but the Dragonball in the second pic doesn’t look all that great, it’s good, but not great.
Bulma looks so freakin hott, as always.
I’m really curious to see how this is going to turn out, I just don’t have a good feeling about this anymore
I’ll bite my tongue for now, but I just can’t say I’m happy about this.

Woah, Chow Yun Fat looks freakin awesome!! I really dun mind that he’s not bald like in the anime. Chow looks alot sexier with the hair and whole outfit just works for him.
But im lookin at the pic with Chatwin and Rossum.. so does this mean that the poster Adam posted a while ago with the wrong date was.. REAL??? Well, now that its in better quality, it actually doesnt look too bad.

X_X holy cow i have to say, im a bit disappointed they took away his sunglasses and beard but what the heck this movie focuses on Goku vs PICCOLO so I can live with it :p and the Dragonball….. yeah roshi looks great. About the people that are complaining, theres no way around that. If you change one thing someone will be pissed. Change another thing to fit those people and then another range of people will be pissed.
Pretty much 0% chance to please everyone.
But anyhow, I think pics look great, Bulma looks hot as hell,like Roshi’s outfit, dont really care much for chi chi since i hated her in the anime,damn annoying.

That 4-star ball is obviously shooped onto the picture, probably by the magazine so the fans can relate more than to the glowing dragonball in previous pics.

yeah both pics of Goku, the body is in the exact same position. Looks like the photoshoped the head and put it on the pic with bulma - and looks like they also photoshoped a dragonball straight out of the anime and stuck it in place of the glowing orb…

Chow yun looks like roshi to me, but to be honest i wasn’t TOO concerned about how he would look…clothing is right on, but i understand how they could have had him bald with a beard and shades……clothing is spot on though!!

I can’t believe anyone really cares that much whether Roshi has a beard or not. O_o I could frankly care less. The Hawaiian shirt made me smile, as it’s a little homage to the Roshi from the series. I like the changes, too; they’re interesting. I’m not looking for a carbon copy of Toriyama’s silly character designs. XD

Emmy Rossum looks pretty cool as Bulma, too. I’m glad they didn’t give her a crappy blue wig. XD In fact, I’d been fiddling around with the idea of film a couple of my favorite comedic moments from DB with some friends a while ago, and I remember in my notes I wrote to give Bulma light brown hair, instead of purple/blue, just like this movie is doing now, haha. Weirdddd.

To put an end to all this, it’s okay to have your own opinion like: “I think so-and-so would have done better to play Goku” or “I don’t like how the Dragonballs look”. But some of you are taking it too far like: “Bulma’s hair HAS to be blue” or “Whoever approves of these pictures is not a true Dragonball fan.” When a band comes out with a new album that changes their style of music, their fans change along with them and support them. This film was not made to make YOU happy, it’s to entertain the people. Filming is already complete and there’s nothing we can do to change anything. Take it from someone who literally grew up with Dragonball since he was in diapers. Whether this film bombs or not, I will still go to see it and support it as a true DB fan. . . thank you for your time.

I think Goku looks great,people complain hes old, but im pretty sure there casting goku for how old he is in the Picolo Junior saga, since there going right to Z after this. People just think this is dragoball hes supposed to be a kid, but dont think about just how old goku is by the end of Dragonball.
Bulmas odd, when you look at her she doesnt resemble bulma THAT match, but at the same time it matches great, i think she looks perfect for her in that poster
As for master roshi i like him, im ok with the changes as long as they add shades

To be serius and fair abou this, my opinion is so far this seems worth to give a chance, only thing im not crazy about is Master Roshi’s hair and no beard, and i know Chow Yun Fat would look great cuz he had the real master roshis look in Pirates of the Carebean 3, and the be honest that makes me sad cuz he woulda looked great that way, but w/e I’m still gonna give it a shot, hope they dont screw up Piccolo this way, but Goku and Bulma has potential so far…True Fans will still go see the movie, like myself.

Chow Yun Fat is a great actor, but they should have made him look more like the Master Roshi we all know and love. A Master Roshi without his mustache and beard and sunglasses really does not sit well with me.
