… The actors have no likeness, and the story does not seem to be the same. The actor for Goku should have been asian for example. And Jamie Chung not like Chichi. And the actor for Muten Roshi did not even glasses and beard Muten Roshi.

We had two choices. Either they go and make Dragonball for the 21 century with a story with less holes and hopefully less cheesy dailouge. Or Warner Bros or Disney would of adapted their own “Westernized” cartoon version.(If we’re lucky the second part will happen)
Plus, I know this had been said 100000000000000000 times. Its would look so fucking stupid if they followed the designs and storyline to the mark. ONLY dragonball fans would go see it (20% of people who will see this movie) if that were true. And it would make as much money. Look at Speed Racer too cartoon for the 14+ people who know what the show is about. Unless you are 11-13, and I don’t know how you would know of DBZ its been off air for ages, I don’t understand you will to see a live action cartoon.

For those still complaining about Goku’s gi not being in press pics, please remember the following:
1- This is Dragonball- for a decent amount of the time, Goku didn’t even where the Kame Gi, especially the first saga. He needs to meet Master Roshi first, or it doesn’t make any sense. The way I’ve interpreted what we know about the movie, he’s in school before he starts his quest, and therefore, before he meets Master Roshi. It wouldn’t be sensible to the story to have him in the Gi for most of the movie.
2- Even though the movie Gi is only half-orange in the film, it’s still orange, and that is simply a pain in the neck to light on film. There’s no getting around it. If he had the gi on all the time, the lighting would be very difficult to pull off for everyone, when Goku is in the shot (which is more than likely, a good portion of the film)
3- There needs to be something that calls the audience into the story. Changing clothes is very symbolic, and usually issues a change of character.
And complaining about the colors of the stars in the Dragonballs? Really?
I get that people are hardcore fans, and that’s fine, but nitpicking isn’t always helpful.

Yes, but they could add muscles in via special effects, like the guys from 300, sure some of them were big dudes, But if you watched the behind the scenes stuff alot of there muscles were added in via special effects. so it could very well be possible. Plus goku doesnt get ripped until well into DBZ they could have him work his ass off till he is cut enough to be older Goku haha
Do you guys remember the sweet fight scenes in James Wong’s movie “The One”! That is like not even close to how awesome the fight scenes in Dragonball are gonna be!
I liked the images but there is another thing people keep complaining about:
1. Why didn’t they get an asian actor to play goku? Here’s the thing i know this was created in Japan but no one ever specified the race of goku, bulma,or anybody.
2. Why wasn’t the actor muscular? In dragonball, Goku was not as ripped as he was in DBZ and he can get bigger before the sequels.
People should remember this is a Dragonball movie not DBZ, If u want DBZ wait for the sequel, at least
3. Some people are expecting them to look exactly like their anime counterparts. Don’t you think that would look completely ridiculous. completely bizarre hair , full blue hair, it’s impossible to look that close to the anime as people would wish.
We should wait till we know how good the storyline is going to be before we judge how good the movie is going to be

I’m pretty sure Bulma is supposed to be white. She’s from Western city and is very Westernised. Anyways who cares if this movie doesn’t follow the story line to the show none of the animated movies followed the shows storyline, and they were still awesome. The brolli movies don’t fit into the story line of the show but I don’t think any DBZ fan would fault them for it. Besides this live action movie couldn’t possibly be any worse than GT.

Any Chatwin FINALLY looks perfect as goku. Power Pole looks nice and he looks like something just pissed him off (like in the dragonball manga, him wanting to fight the person who just did something bad.) The clothes, I think they are going the style of the Speed Racer movie, by making the signiture mach 5 a rally car and the mach 6 a formula-1 racer. This he may have the gi on only during intense fighting, but stuff like surching for dragonballs I’m sure he will be wearing this.
For Roshi, I don’t mind the loss of the beard. Someone suggested on imdb that this being made close to kill bill, might mistake Roshi for Pai Mei. At least he has the shirt, and hopefully he’s a pervert lol. As for chi chi (are we sure it isn’t Mai?) she looks great as well. Bulma had a gun a couple of times in the manga and uncut series so that works as well.
Think about it this way. PROMOTIONS ARE FULLY BEGINNING!

Ya, just noticed after posting the comment. Also… look at how strong Chatwin looks. He REALLY did buff up for the movie. You can see this by his arms and sleeves of the shirt. There is no looseness to the shirt at all… pure muscle.
Those pictures are from asian magazines. The marketing there is usually different from Western countries. So expect a radical different marketing approach in US, Europe and other countries.
I read somewhere that they are going to exclude Raditz entirely from the sequel, Due to the fact that there are just too many charecters for them to tell his story good. So i think that means they’ll probably combine the Raditz and Vegeta storyline into one film, Like Goku and Piccolo fight Vegeta and in order to defeat him Goku has to hold him while Piccolo does the special beam cannon. only it doesn’t kill Vegeta, it just wounds him greatly so he rushes off back into space. Then the last thing you see in the movie is Goku waking up on snake way getting drawn to King Kai’s house.
That story can’t be right. They should include Raditz or the story will get completely messed up. I doubt there’s really any official info out about the second movie yet. No matter how messed up it is though, I would still go see it

I don’t get why people think the World Tournament was big in DB (not DBZ). I mean, back when Goku fought with Piccolo (which I doubt will be placed at the tournament in the movie), the tournament was pretty small. Spectators didn’t even have seats (they had to stand around the ring), if I remember correctly.
