Honestly, I’ve never complained once about this movie before until I was the rating and who the targeted audience is for.
C’mon, PG? For kids 6-12? I hope to God that changes, I don’t want to see a kid flick, I wanna see an ass whoopin going on between Goku and Piccolo. But hell, it seems Mai and Chi Chi are doing a pretty good job so I guess I can’t complain just yet, and I’ll try not to. Because I’m really looking forward for a great kickass film.

dragon ball was based on a classic chinese novel called “journey to the west” and mnarrated the story of a young boy by the name of Sūn Wùkōng( aka monkey god, aka son goku). So if goku literaly means monkey and does not have a tail, then i think its a serious thing to ignore and the main character should change his name to Son Fa###t or something.:?:
from the little bit of the fight scene, it looked pretty cool. i hope they do a lot of jumping and stuff like in the show. and i hope they incorporate some fast fighitng, too cuz thats the heart of the show.

I’m not to worried, they are spending over 100MM on this so I think there target audience will be higher than stated here. Most fighting style films are aimed at males 18-25, so I would expect a PG-13 in the US and an M rating here in Australia.

It is a little disconcerting to have the movie targeted for children, but the rating doesn’t worry me that much. Don’t quote me on this, but I think RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK was rated PG. If Dragonball has as much violence as that movie, it shouldn’t be too bad. If it starts looking like Fantastic Four, then I’ll be worried.

wow…I’m getting pretty excited to see the film now. So far, from what I can see, seems like it’s going to be really good. I knew they had to have some excentric camera work to get good shots, and in the video you see they’re using dollying around the arena to more movement…. ok, I’m gonna stop now lol. I can go on and on about it haha.
I was talking to my classmates and professor about which films are in pre and post production. As well as films that are going to be in pre p soon and only people in the industry know about. From what I hear, db was well filmed, and the company/people that are doing their post know what their doing. SO, all in all, I think it’s going to be a kickass film. Only thing that could ruin it, is a bad story line lol.
(I’m a film student, sorry if said film-geek-ness showed through lol)

Its ok to prove a point in a film, but there no need for DRAGONBALL. Good will beat evil, there’s your message. AND 3, most PG action movie are not so good (NOT ALL, BUT MOST DO). Most kids at that age never shut-up. Or never be mature in a theater. I went to watch “Fantastic Four 2” and where 6 kids by the of 7 to 13 didn’t shut-up in the first 15 min in the film. AND THE MOM WAS THERE, AND SHE DIDN’T DO CRAP!!!! God, thats one of the reasons.
Babys:
Babys are cute and all, but when the parents want to bring them into then film. ALL HELL BRAKE!! They start to cry in the middle in the film. Thats just dumb, babys need to sleep and get fed plus love, NOT A LOUD BOOMING NOSE TO MAKE THEM CRY!!!! Thats like throwing a cat in hot water!!

I’m not 8 years old! Spider-man was for kids, and once they made a movie…IT WAS THE BOOOM! And was cool to see a “PG-13” FILM. Not because the blood and the action ( well, a good 97% was that), it was to see a new look at the story. To show a maturity level to see my hero is going through.

Oh yeah, guys. You all no what PG means, right? It means that my prediction of Master Roshi NOT being a pervert is CORRECT! He’ll act all clean-cut like he was in the Ocean dub of DBZ and the edited FUNimation dub.
I knew Fox was too stupid to target this movie towards those that like the show (and actually know what it is in the first place) and this just proves it. Seriously, ask any 6-12 year old what DBZ is and they’ll be like ????? Then after this movie comes out, the new generation of so-called DB fans will think THIS is the TRUE story of DB.
Wow. Well, there’s a good chance, that the film based on Dragonball Z will be a PG-13 rated film. As I recall, Dragonball Z attracted a much broader audience on television several years ago. (Males 15-24, if I’m not mistaken).

Hey people i bet you guys have seen forbidden kingdom and that is an action pack karate movie, and the movie didn’t show that much blood and what rating did it get, oh yeah thats right pg-13. Now don’t be stupid this poster is just like a pilot is due to change, and honestly even if it was posted as a pg movie that doesn’t mean that it won’t be a good movie. Besides the terrible acting, Narnia: Prince Caspian was a PG movie guys. And that movie had some pretty intense violent scenes. Fantastic 4 Rise of the Silver Surfer was PG thought it had a more PG-13 feel. Just cuz its PG doesnt mean that guns wont be used or shiz like that or they are gonna tone down the violence. You guys keep confusing PG with G.

Look we should stop complaining. yes if it’s PG the movie may be the suckiest thing on the planet. But think about it this way. it’s directed by the same guy that directed the goriest series of movies on the planet….. Final Destination. And we have a year until the movie comes out. There will be alot of blood trust me. The only things I’m worried about is how they’re gonna pull this right from the pages of the manga to the big screen. LOOK AT GOKU’s HAIR! it kinda makes me nervous about the movie. If you ask me they should’ve had justin Chatwin’s hair just like they do on his IMDb picture and saved the spikes for super saiyan in “Dragon Ball Z”. Another thing is that there is a rumor that Krillin’s not in it?!?! How can you take Krillin out!!??!! He was Goku’s sparring partner and best friend!! But anyway we should stop complaining because if you realy think about it, the movie could come out rated R and then most of the teenagers parents would never let them see it. No tien, no chaoutzu, no Krillin, no pilaf… idk about you but I’m getting less and less excited. I am a researcher of Manga and animê here in Brazil, and I think this film is simply a “INSULT” to history and style of Akira Toriyama, and also an insult to Japanese culture.
