Jump SQ’s July Set Report

My source in Japan received the July issue of Jump Square magazine, which has a report on the live-action movie. But a set report for this magazine is not exciting enough. Instead, we are treated to… a manga! But, don’t take my word for it, here are some exclusive scans for you to chew on. Click to enlarge.

Bulma’s three-wheeler motorcycle. We can see the can-am logo on the body.

Official Dragonball poster.

Piccolo’s futuristic-looking room. Producer [Tim Van Rellim] said Piccolo would create monsters using his powers in this room. Maybe the fulum assassins?

Justin Chatwin as Goku wearing an orange Gi, but they say this illustration’s Gi design is not real. Real Gi picture will be revealed in the next issue.

Dragon Radar (Dragonball locator device).

A large set. A volcano, perhaps?

Dojo (training hall).

Dragonball sphere. Producer Tim [Van Rellim] said that stars inside would be added later with computer graphics.

Nyoibou (Power Pole).

This is the most bizarre and amusing thing I’ve seen in quite a while. XD Seeing Justin Chatwin manga-ified is really odd; wonder what those kids are saying. . . . Maybe I’ll try to translate some of this. My Japanese isn’t the best, but seeing as this is Shonen Jump, the sentences should be simple enough. *shrug*

@Karen: Yeah me either, the motorcycle just doesn’t work for me. And I hope that’s not what Justin will look like in the GI lol. Those pants are way too high and wide on him, but I really enjoyes these pics man, thanks alot. I just wish there was an English version

the 3wheels motorcycle is a SPYDER, made by Can-am, its from Bombardier (a Canadian compagny who makes airplanes and atvs, stuff like that)

i have faith in this movie. it cant fail. if they were able to make the matrix and hancock, they can make this movie.

plus, if u see the fanmade films on youtube, it would bring up your hopes even more.

Yeah he does. You see, anime characters in general look white by accident. Therfore when they try to draw a white person intentionally it looks odd.

wow this is very exciting its only a matter of time now before we get a trailer. If fox is as smart as I believe they are we will definately get one before the end of summer which is fine with me as long as they continue pulling out the photos, mainly Piccolo because im not sure how much longer i can wait for that

That spyder (motorcycle) looks amazing!! It looks like something Bulma rides only with wheels.
I liked how they showed the manga…. The Piccolo layer looks cool can’t wait to see the real one!!

This movie is getting closer and closer to the original source then most of us though. Up to the piccolo saga in the manga (as I said before I was reading it) and not only is Pilaf, Mai, and the wolf guy there, Old piccolo uses his powers to spit out eggs, his henchmen tamberine and cymbal. I personally think the assassins are replacing these two henchmen.

by the way, im talking about the good fanmade films. like with great saiyaman vs the androids or the japanese made goku vs freeza (graphics were great in that. not the actors).

Even if that is not the actual gi Goku wears in the movie, it does look cool. My excitement is building, I can’t wait to see the movie!

I found a photo on the internet of a guy wearing an outfit surprisingly very, VERY similar to the one in the scan and he even appears to have the same hair-do Justin Chatwin has as Goku. I’m wondering if it may be a photo of his stunt-double. If anyone can tell me how I can post it to this site, I will be glad to do so, if it is ok to do so that is(it does have a website written across the bottom).
