Jenova Anime has uploaded another video from the tournament in which Chi-Chi (Jamie Chung) fights Mai (Eriko Tamura). They were also kind enough to provide DBtheMovie with another leaked video.

By looking at this vid i can’t help but feel the fights are going to be…”Power-ranger-ish”.
It’s probably because of the rating this movie has been given…the fight itself isn’t bad, but it’s not great either.

Don’t forget that this is only Mai & Chichi fighting, you wouldn’t really expect anything special from those 2.

First off, the movie was going to have Power Ranger fights one way or another. Tokusatsu is live action anime.
Second, it looks nothing like a Power Ranger fight, and it more resembles the Matrix fights, which makes a lot of sense, considering it’s the same people behind it.
I posted this elsewhere, but the G rating on the licensing manual is for the merchandising. As much as I will probably buy every piece of merchandise connected to the movie, (as will most other fans my age) the toys and games are still targeted for the younger side of the audience.

It was PG, but nevertheless, it’s only for products based off the movie.
X-men was PG-13, but you don’t see many grown men running around with Wolverine figures. So there’s nothing to worry about.
Guys look at the end of 2nd video chi chi and mai stop fighting and look up and then you hear a huge wind rush and like huge sound … what do you think it is?

Well, we already know Mai will let Chichi win. So I don’t know, maybe it’s Piccolo who’s going to tell Mai to do something I don’t know.
Anyway they were fighting pretty slow. But that’s how the matrix fights were, so no surprise. I wonder if the aerial fights will be slow and tumbling like in the Matrix movie.

Wow, that is a HUGE improvement over the first videos that were posted. At least the one at the top is. Yeah, I wouldn’t worry too much about how the fight looks from that angle, through a camera phone. Once they get in there with multiple angles and close-ups and speed ups and slow downs I bet it’ll look sweet. They may even add some effects to where you can actually see little hints of ki when they land punches and kicks. I can’t wait.

All i have to say about the fights…..CAMERA MAGIC! There are a lot of fight scenes are slow period. Editing and camera angles/cuts determin how fast the fight will be. Who knows, this scene in the vid might not be in the movie. It might just be ‘training’ befor the scene is accually shot.
And a reply to Aztects post: If this is in the movie, I believe that this scene might probably be an opener for the arrivale of Piccolo, honostly from how movies are usally made, this whould be a great scene for that. Might is be the ship flying over the arena? Maybe, we’ll have to wait and see!
