These warrior dudes, Fulum Assassins, look alien/ bug-like to me. Maybe they’ll have special powers, like shoot ki blasts and super strength. In the movie, I would like to see Goku take on hundreds of these at once and wipe the floor with them.

I too have a Power Ranger feeling but I’m sure the Anamorphic film look, post-production, lightning technique and actors inside will change that

Remember that Alien in the film Signs? That scene were we only get a glimpse of the alien on that Home video footage? it really disturbs me

Great update, and I just just finished watching the Guyver movie and I have to agree with Savonny, these Fulum assassins look alot like the Guyver’s suit. I just hope it doesn’t turn out like that movie

power rangers is like 1000x cheesy-er than this and DEFF shows no where near as much detail.

not to mention this is before post production so your STILL not even seeing it in its entirety.

The only way you can say this looks power rangerish is if you watch a scene out of the movie and the acting/movement/look/graphics are completly shitt..Then you can say that.

when they took these, they were obviously still working on them! if you compare the colors with the recent one to this one than you can see how big of a difference it is.

Well, by looking at the costume, it look pretty good! I really don’t know if they can fight, but it might be enjoyable. They little bit remind me a godzilla villains and ultraman villains as well. I don’t know about power rangers…. Maybe these costume can make ths movie a PG-13 rating, it looks kind of scary. But its pretty hard to freak-out little 6-12/teens kids, maybe if we add MJ (Michel Jackson) that might push the rating. But in all, good. Thanks for the news!!

This is post-production, and that monster has awesome detail. The guy that said the whole power-rangers thing is a bandwagon deal was right.
Honestly, all you’ve seen is some posters, and a few pictures.

I remember when Spider-Man was being made, all websites about the movie, just like this, had 90% of people saying that the casting was an epic fail, the director was an epic fail, this movie was going to bomb in everything, Sony didn’t really care about it, ect. Basically, it was being received very poorly at that stage. And all the fans had to see were a few post-production pictures.

And you know what?, Spider-Man KICKED ASS. So shut-up you whiny bastards, and wait until you actually see the whole of something before making a judgement about it.

With all the pictures and info “leaked/released” its hard to not doubt db’s success sometimes but as to why people come to a site that obviously supports the film and go way overboard with their opinions is beyond me. Maybe some people find pleasure in annoying others (ever been on xbox live?) I personally find the movie to be interesting and enjoy seeing news. Thanks to Adam for digging the stuff up so I don’t have to, just wish the internet was filled with less irritating people…

The Fulum assassins look good and as long as they can trow down in battle I think they’ll do great.

@grapes: Dude its called curiosity. Some people want to be proven wrong. I’m a fan and a skeptic, and if the movie sucks then I won’t watch it in the theaters. I don’t need to drive there and waste gas, pay $10, and spend the time watching a horrible movie. You can’t ask time for a refund. I also think that what they are trying to do with the movie is to avoid the cosplay by making the movie more “real life”. To try and attract DB fans and non-fans to the movie.

The Matrix reloaded used extras for the Agent smith fight scene with Neo. That scene turned out amazing!!!! In order for the characters to look real you need real people. You can’t just have 100% Cgi or it’s not going to have that extra realism. You have to have people in the suits so the movement can be more real.

Just think how it’s going to look when it gets Cgi???? It’s going to look freakin’ ALWSOME!!!! It’s going to be Dragonball all the freakin’ way

The movie is going to be good guys. it reminds of the sayin saga when nappa released the sayba men and they were pain in the ass to fight. But i think that with these pictures released gives us a good feel (idea) of what the movie is gonna offer. I wonder what there powerlevels are going to be like or wht power they possess. But obivously goku is stronger then them which makes it an even better fight. We all know goku loves fighting and is always up for challenges which is going to make this movie good.Plus this movie is getting a high budget (100000) plus cgi effects could make this even better. We know Chatwin so far is taking his role as goku seriously so lets give the movie a chance.Its not gonna turnout to be anything like power rangers so lets get out of the way. This a new generation of movie and with cgi you can’t go wrong because thats what gives you the entertainment. I am a huge true fan of db dbz dbgt. I have seen every episode. I know that fox is planning on sequals for this movie and the story has to change a little bit to make it even more entertaining. So far fox is giving this movie a chance and so should we. I mean just like spiderman people didn’t think it was going to be good cause of the actors and the director and all that. But look happened it turned out to be a hit. With a bigger budget for the film gives us hope that the movie is gonna be a sucess and gives them time with the trailer and all that. We can’t let them rush it and turn out bad cause then the movie will be bad. We gotta give them chance so we can see the sayin and freeza saga in next to movies even VEGETA. The fullum assasions look cool guys okay, it powerrangish i know, but with cgi added to it.This could look cool. Plus the fighting scenes that there probably working on right now could be badass. These look like there gonna beet the crap out of goku and his friends first or maybe even kill master roshie. but i think piccolo is gonna kill master roshie whatever they do for it. Its gonna look really badass cause goku is not gonna be a child like kid in this movie. maybe the beginning, towards the middle of it he’s gonna get pissed and think about nothing but killing piccolo.

This movie sucks, it isn’t DragonBall, it’s Dungeons and Dragons or worst.
Where is Krilin? And… Goku in High school?? jajjajaaja!!! Goku is an ignorant monkey living alone in a mountain! And he only wants to fight and become stronger, he doesnt want to fuck bulma! This movie is an insult to all dragonball fans. Remember the Lord of the Rings, Jackson didn’t make Frodo as a midget high school student in order to make the movie more realistic. And the Orcos weren’t ugly people! Were orcos! And he didnt remove Sam Sagaz from the movie because he wasnt a cool guy. Sauron was a giant eye, and not a big guy with big eyes or something like that. And the orcos were orcos, not fullum freaky assassins.

So they can make an adaptation of a fantasy world and it isnt necessary make it realistic. Because it’s that, a FANTASY world.

Since we’re all off topic here Mr. Popo its been said here a million times (I think) this is an adaptation. Toriyama himself isn’t doing it so its not going to fit the storyline exactly (have you seen the Spider-man adaptations?) This movie is just that, a movie. We’re all aware that its just a bastardized quest for money on Fox’s part, but who the hell cares? Please don’t complain here, for the most part we’re all trying to stay positive about this film. So from my perspective its you who is the embarrassment to Dragonball fans so if you can’t share our optimism on the matter, then just try to forget about it.

@Grapes: I know my comment was off-topic, I’m sorry, but actually I didn’t hear about the movie since today, so I’m in shock.

I’m reading info about the movie, and looking photos and I see that this movie isn’t a copy and paste from the anime, of course, but isn’t an adaptation neither because the characters and the situations (that defined dragonball) are completely new. Goku in high school is so anti-Goku… Krillin, in my opinion, is a vital character of the saga, he was the first rival of Goku, his best friend, and the reason because he turns into supersayan.

There are a lot of books, comics (even videogames) that has a better adaptation, and the writers and directors has more respect about the original source. Why the most famous anime in the world is receiving such treatment? Yeah, the money is the boss, and Yamcha sells more t-shirts than Krillin, but look LOTR, Ironman, Batman Begins, etc. They respect, at least, the costumes (in a cool and modern way), and more important, they respect the main characters.

i like the “Clerks 2″ quote annoyed anonymous, nice touch. as for Mr Popo, you know what man, none of us know if Krillin will be in this movie or not, some of us might think we know based on what we read online, but we dont. they might show him for a few seconds or mention him somewhere in the film or save him for the sequel, who knows, i do know that they cant cram everything into a 1 hour 45 min movie, then the story would seem rushed and i dont think it would be good, look at xmen, look at all the characters left out, (they made some bad decisions in that franchise tho). now i have faith that they will bring these vital characters in later, they have to, thats what you do in sequels, introduce new people and new story. now, whats so wrong with goku, a teenager, being in high school, why is that so unheard of and who cares anyway, like thats gonna ruin the movie, even gohan went to school in the show after the cell games.. its an adaptation, get it? if you dont like the changes then go watch dragonball cartoon reruns over and over again if thats what satisfies you, as for me and most of the rest of us, im looking forward to the next step in the Dragonball franchise with this movie. its the only thing left to do with this thing is to make a movie and its about time, im tired of watching reruns! o, and i was wondering if Grapes was a girl, wasnt sure tho… Alwsome! huh Corey!

Most of the people on here are idiots. Yes, it is achieved through suitmation (much like Zu Rangers from the 80s, the Power Rangers to you Americans). SUitmation is a japanese tradition in film and television, and Toriyama made numerous jokes about it. The Ginyu force was specifically designed to reflect a sentai hero group.

Still, I have seen the film’s poster, and my hopes were crushed. Suits and crazy hair would be welcome compared to this. Additionally, sources say very little fighting in the film is done with wires and most is hand to hand… meaning very little flying or energy attacks. The use of a kamehameha will probubly end the film. It just looks too far from the original. Also, no talking animals or Kurririn… I’m hurt.
