Teaser This Month?
UPDATE: JPHongUhu posts in the comments that someone else anonymously contacted Christina Inman, confirming the trailer will be released in Japan within two months. As for America, who knows?
We know that a teaser trailer was shown at Cinema Expo 2008 in Amsterdam, but it was never publicly released. Well, now it looks like Christina Inman from Fox has finally acknowledged that and has recently said in an email that a teaser trailer could be released at the end of this month or the beginning of August. Thanks to ANON-UNKNOWN in the comments for bringing this up. Keep in mind she’s not the most reliable source.

yes, we all need to see a little bit of polished footage from this movie to reassure us that everything will be okay. i personally don’t care if every shot in the trailer winds up on the cutting room floor, it’ll still give us a much better feel for the film than the half-dozen “official” photos that show up in a new photoshop layout every week or so.

What a piece of crap that movie seems like, but the action stuff seems very familiar… hmmm… could this be some kind of pre-cursor to dragonball’s kind of action? Right Im not saying I dont love the DB and DBZ series (even though GT sucked big style) But Im not even going to say this movie is going to be good, when the USA brings a Japanese or Asian film or cartoon to Hollywood they destroy it, the American version of the Grudge was to say the least crap. I think for one that making Goku a white guy is ignorent, Goku is Asian! not American or what not. The Manga and Anime were created by Asian’s and were made to be Asian.
I will watch the movie but I doubt it’s going to be any good.

This news seems like a hollow promise to me. Maybe it’s in November, July, or October. We’ve been told so many things that it’s almost impossible to know what the truth is. As cloudy as this is, one can’t help from hoping that the trailer is soon. Like this month. We all need a trailer!

ya, really Victor.. or maybe they should have just got that goofy kid that played Shia Lebeoufs friend in “Disturbia”… theres an asian goku for all the cry babies, hes asian, got the hair, young… guess the movie wouldve been great then, right. even with an asian goku theyd still complain about other stuff like krillin, i mean, dont get me wrong, i love krillins character and i still hope he surprisingly shows up in this movie somehow, if not, the sequel… but the little bald guy who throws in a few one-liners, gets his ass kicked and then dies all the time isnt gonna be the difference in whether this movie is great or not. adding him to the mix though would only make it better.

I’m sorry guys, but they don’t show trailers this early unless it was to be shown in August or September and if I remember right, it has been set in stone that it will be viewed in March (Japan) and April (everywhere else).
And about Goku should be Asian comment— dude, shut up. I’m tired of hearing about this cry-baby bull shit about Goku not being Japanese. Aliens aren’t Japanese. They are ALIENS for god sakes. @CAT: Transformers had a teaser trailer 12 months before it was released. There are other examples, too, of movies having teaser trailers many months before they are released. Usually, huge blockbusters.
The thing about Dragonball is, it’s finished filming. It was supposed to be released next month. It only makes sense that instead of the full movie being released, they release the theatrical trailer. It’s already finished filming, how hard is it to throw together a trailer?? In fact, they HAVE a trailer, they just haven’t publicly released it.
My bet is still on “The X-Files” on July 25th.

Certain characters definitely have asian backgrounds, like Chi Chi, or Yamucha, others don’t like Goku or Vegeta because they’re Saiyans or humans like Bulma because of obvious reasoning like her name and hair color. It’s really not hard to tell who’s what.

Ok i’m a little late to reply to this but Gosha is right Cahtwin IS the perfect actor for Goku. He’s a real talented actor and he does have a face that really look’s like goku(and neither Goku or any other DB characters, well maybe except Chiaotzu, have never looked asian to me). Most of people would have prefer Jet Li or Jackie Chan but let me just say this, do these two makes crazy stunts and good martial arts fighting? Yes that’s for sure but does any of these 2 is a good actor? Hell NO! It takes more than fighting skills to be a good actor… Just look at Li’s and Chan’s movies, the best acting is done by suporting actors and people like em just cause they know haw to fight. But just look at Chatwin’s other movies (Especially the invisible) This guy sure know how to make a character come to life. Because (as i think about Jet Li an Jackie Chan) if you can’t act than y’our just a show case (and don’t get me wrong i still respect Li’s and Chan’s fighting ability) and good actors is what makes movies good. Just think as if they would have picked Vin Diesel to play Forest Gump (ok this example ain’t that much relative but it’s the only thing that came to my mind).

It was confirmed by someone other than Christina Inman so that’s a good sign. I guess that means it’s for sure. For me, this is going to be a long two months.

everyones arguing over the fact that goku is supposedly asian, but you know what, either way, the way the cartoon looked, none of the characters looked asian except yajirobe, everyone else looked like they were white ppl, and also if the movie was made with all japanese ppl then i honestly wouldnt of seen it cuz they dont look japanese in the cartoon so it would just be all wierd, either way, stop bitchingg about it cuz its already happened, get over it and judge when youre walking out of the theatre that the movie is playing at, im not getting my hopes up but im not hating on it either, you never know, it could be totally freaking awesome

the movies i anticipate the trailer to be in are Hellboy2 *but might be too early in the month*, maybe Dark Night but thats a Warner Brothers film so who knows, Babylon AD, and Quiet possibly X-files 2.

if what I am seeing to be the somewhat movie trailer for this so called adadeptation of the greatest anime in th eworld they should have lef6 well enough alone. the producers and crew are completely trashing this movie. it has little or nothing to do with the series and there changing things that have no reason to be changed. not to mention leaving people out. anime fans of the series will be outraged if this is the final product. and another thing does akira toriyama know that america movie makers are destroying his great vision

Rasheed- Of course akira knows about it Fox had to get the rights to make the movie in the first place…. and although i am pissed that they are leaving out people *Krillin* it is an adaptation… so like it or not they are going to do what they want in the film just Pray they keep it close to the them… Any thing is better than The Magic Begins…

As I see, the movie will be good or not. This not a actual comment but James Marsters had said dat da movie will not be equally to the Shonen Jump Graphic Novel Dragonball Z. But it looks complicated becuz how da hell dey setup it up that. They mixed Dragonball Z with Dragonball which means dat they dont start they were little juniors besides of mature adults.
