I remember picking up a copy of the Pirates of the Caribbean kiddie novel a while back. My brain melted; it was worse than the most inept fanfic, haha. So, yeah, no junior novels for me again. Ever. XD
I am slightly curious to see the characterizations, though. It’s just a bizarre thought — kids reading this and thinking it’s Dragonball, the original DB or whatnot, when they could just go pick up the graphic novel a few shelves down and find something fairly different. XD
And, hmm, Ramsey’s credited. Must mean that, at the very least, Wong used his script and just added and subtracted things. Despite Ramsey being all coy, saying that he couldn’t say whether the script was fake or not, whether it was his or not, there’s no doubt in my mind now that it was the real thing (especially since we’ve heard about the party scene, etc. in the movie now). That . . . isn’t very encouraging, though. There wasn’t much about that script that I liked. . . .
Well i still believe 100% the script was fake.

when i read/see/experiance all these things abouth this wonderful upcoming movie, one word comes to mind:
FAIL
Why? Not because I’m a crazy fanboy. Not because I doubt the actors/special effects etc.

If they gave this to Warn. Bros.I would have have some faith, since they make the DC cartoons into movies (like the recent epic Dark Knight).
But the problem is other than Warner other companies have more than once dissapointed me with the way they have done the Marvel cartoons to movie adaptations. The first Spiderman movies were ok, but they changed things around (green goblin etc.) and killed off bad guys, totally ignoring the fact that the movies mite surpass being a trilogy. And then came along Peter Parker in spiderman 3 - supposed to turn evil. But no, what did he do? He turned emo in that movie..thats right, EMO! Looking at justin in metro clothes I already have my doubts.
Now lets look at the X-men movies. They killed Xavier…WTF!? Yes yes, I know, it was supposed to be a trilogy..but they never thought it could go further, and now they have to make a silly wolverine side story…why? Cause they killed people off…
Dragonball, epsecially Z, has an unike atmosphere - thats what captured me as a child. I believe its very hard to capture that atmosphere, and looking at the pics I think they have failed.

I dont post on IMBD…dont even visit it. And no, my word is not god. Nor is it all powerful. But I did state some facts. Can I know the movie will be crap before hand? I geuss not. But judging on the pics I am extremely sceptical. I just read the (hopefully) rejected Ramsey script. It was like smallville, only worse. If the whole rejected schoolboy thing is in the movie, complete with him being geeky, it will not be true to Dragonball. No, I’m not saying they should follow the anime word for word, God that would fail. But here are some feelings I have about Dragonball:
1. Goku is not a superhero in the true sense of the word. I always saw him as a warrior, fighter. Protector of earth, yes. Disguised caped guy, no. Thats not to say thats how hes being portraid, but Im getting a very superhero movie-ish vibe from what Ive seen so far.
2. Goku is goofy and crazy, and down right retarted at times. He can’t go through social rejection, because he doesn’t care about crap like that. He is oblivious. He better be like that in the movie. If Justin goes emo, then epic fail. Gohan, maybe yes. Trunks is also quite emo-ish, the future one at least. But not goku. He is happy go lucky, chill and friendly..until someone pisses him off.
3. The anime was always very ‘light’..I dont know how to describe it..but the feeling it gave me when I saw it the first time…Radtiz showing up, big fight in a big open place (green hills to be specific) between Raditz and goku/picollo. It felt unike anything I have ever seen before. But these pics feel way to dark. I hope to God the movie has a good feeling/atmosphere to it.
This is just the opinion of one guy, but Im shure there are more people who feel that something ‘Dragonball-ish’ is missing from this movie. Something that no amount of good acting, special effects and wardrobe can fix.
Whats with the font? Dont really care about a book about the movie, but this cover looks fake as hahaha.
Lets all send FOX letters saying we are all going to boycott this movie if you dont release the trailer Before the end of this month, they will b like “but japan has rights” then we say nahhh nahhh just post it on youtube as some random bloke …haha

i have noticed a pattern with this board. on the first set of comments everyone is praising the news until halfway down, the haters make their debut and for the entire day there would only be people bashing the movie.
i have come to think of this movie as not a regurgitated story of dragonball with live actors but like ultimate marvel, the ultimate retelling of dragonball

Well now that a book is being released or “junior’s novel” however you wanna call it lol. And then the HQ photos on IGN. Probably a teaser might come out soon, next few months, maybe this month or the next who knows.
Its coming out 2 months before movie hopefully this wont hurt the movies cash-flow! It will help if its good or hurt if its bad!

Just wanted to add that this book is from Viz, so the cover-art may change by the time of the final release. Viz tends to do that when it comes to the manga they release (showing tentative cover art on their site, just for the sake of it being there, but then changing it later on), so maybe that’s the case with this “novel.” Just pointing this out, seeing as how the book isn’t even on Viz’s website yet (that I could find, anyway), so they may not really have an “official” design yet.
If they ARE sticking to this cover, though, it does look a little cheap. Just look up “junior novels” on Amazon.com. Most have pretty nice covers, even for the crappiest of movies. XD
Oh, well. By February, at least we’ll be able to get a taste of what kind of movie (and what kind of characters they morphed the DB cast into) it is.
Why spend the money to print these out when they don’t even know how well/bad the movie’s going to do. I don’t want them to lose too much money, I want Dragon Ball 2/Dragon Ball Z

All I can say is I cant believe people actualy think this is going to be the cover and text. Junior novels tend to have the cover of the official movie poster with the movie based text. The pic they will use on the cover wont be released yet because fox isnt realeasing pics all togeather yet. And For the movie, Fox just provides the money, markets it and distributes it, good or bad movie it wont be because of fox. Believe it or not but the fox ceos dont actualy make movies. Also trailers dont tend to come out to about 6 months before release date. And releasing trailers and promo stuff is determined by the marketing people who will decide if they want to have a long drawn out campaign or a short a short intensive one. You see both campaigns would have the same budget but releasing stuff slowly over a long period of time wont get people to see a movie unlike a short period of a few months where they can bombard us with stuff.

As for the screenshot of the supposed trailer, it looks like the background color was removed and the photo compressed at the top and bottom. This could be fake, or there is a flash in the trailer’s transistion to cause this. But right now, it looks fan made. Anyone can post images in an editer and make a .wmv clip.

Just…just no. I’m happy with the movie despite its teenage high school theme, but Gokuu suddenly finding out he’s a “martial arts whiz with all kinds of powers?” GAH!
…I know theres those that don’t, but I liked the X-Men movies, even though they didn’t stick to close to any story whatsoever, I enjoyed it. If Fox can make something like that for Dragonball, I myself will be fine and enjoy the hell out of the film. If not…well, then I don’t know.

has anyone noticed that if the movie, in fact, has a goku who finds out to be a powerful guy once he has reached 17?, it means he never fought the red ribbon hence they could never make a movie about the androids and/or cell. i dont mind when they make some minor changes to a story so it can be more understandable for people who are not fans, but goku never went to school. I liked the fact that he was always positive and in a way kinda uneducated, yet he saved the world many times. to me, it seems like this dragon ball movie is going to be more like what gohan’s story was like after cell. what do you guys think?

@lemonhead: Goku is an everyman in the manga in DBZ anyway because he’s the lowest class of Saiyan warriors yet he manages to surpass the prince of Saiyans and even do the impossible by beating Frieza. How did they make him an everyman in this movie? By making him a metro highschool student and making him the opposite of how he should be in every other way.
I think this movie resembles Peter Parker in the first Spider-Man movie a lot more than Gohan’s story after the Cell games. Gohan knew he was powerful after he started his training with Piccolo. Goku always knew he was strong, if he didn’t he wouldn’t have pulled his punches/staff hits when fighting ordinary crooks like Pilaf’s crew and the guys in the rabbit gang. Peter Parker never knew he was strong until his fight with the bully.
You’d think if they wanted to make it more ‘realistic’ by making Goku go to school, they’d just make him home-schooled to make him innocent, but I guess high school drama is too irresistable for FOX and Wong.
It doesn’t matter though, I’m a diehard fan as well but I’ll watch it on YouTube maybe or just sit down with those novels in B&N, they won’t get a cent from me, lol.

Ok people listen up. At the beginning of dragon ball goku was strong FOR HIS AGE. He wasnt the all powerful goku until he met master roshi. It was under master roshi training that goku discovered he was in fact able to become an even better fighter (there were no speed fighting before he met roshi) as well as channel his inner power (also known as ki). Keep mind that grandpa gohan was a martial artist and he tought goku everything he knew at the beginning of the series. Roshi tought him all the supernatrul martial arts. Thats what the description of the book is saying. You guys should stop thinking negative for a min.
also now that I think about it, goku was still fighting normal people at his first world martial arts tournament and altho he didnt struggle as much, he did lose to roshi himself. That further support my statement cause if roshi was his trainer than he obviously hadn’t master ROSHI’S martial arts.
But this sounds too much like the matrix no matter how you slice and dice it ssj. And I can’t accept that they’d have goku or neo discover he’s really the one and is destined to defeat agent piccolo. it’s not right i tells ya!
i kno its a little off subject but does anyone else find it kinda wierd that this movie started producton right before the writers strike, finished filming in about three or four months and was shedualed to come out like four months later. then all ofthe sudden as the writers strike ends it gets pushed back a WHOLE year and fox claims its because it would’ve been in competition with too many of its other movies. don’t get me wrong because i’m not hating or anything i just can’t shake the feeling that fox just wanted a big franchise movie that would sell tickets based on name alone so they could pick up some cash during the strike but once the strike ended they decided to take the chance to try to improve it.

I wont read this for two reasons. One being, its a damn junior novel, and I don’t want to read some kiddy crap. Two being, I remember reading Spider-Man 3 The Movie book before the movie came out, and it totally spoiled the movie for me. I knew pretty much everything after reading that book, but the ending was different. Harry never died at the end in the book.
And for people whining about this junior novel, quit crying about everything you can think of. The Dark Knight & Iron Man had Junior Novels, and I never knew about it. I don’t think alot of people knew about it at all. The reason they are making this is because people will pay money for them, and if they are focusing on more of a teen-adult movie they made this book to apply for children so it applies to to the general audience.

The ones who were shocked about Goku and Krillin’s power was everyone BUT Goku and Krillin, they knew they had it in them all along. They were a little surprised at what they could do after their training at first but weren’t like “Whoah! I didn’t think this kind of power existed in me.” Plus, Roshi never taught Goku or Krillin any ‘moves’, he just made them train using his special turtle shell + crazy, life-threatening activities to get stronger and faster, they kept using the same fighting techniques they knew before their training after their training ended. That’s what the Kame-Senin style is all about after all…more like a strength-and-conditioning program than learning a form of martial arts like Kung-Fu.

Got back from seeing star wars, sad to say the trailer was in it, but it was a good movie.

Slightly related: I just got done watching Transformers for the first time (took me long enough), annddddd . . . I gotta say, a lot of the Sam-related stuff in the movie reminded me of the tidbits of info we’ve been hearing about DB.
For ex., there’s the unpopular high school kid, who crushes on the hot girl, who happens to have some non-cliche-hot-girl talent, usually reserved for males (in DB, it’s fighting; in Transformers, it was car mechanics), which her jock boyfriend doesn’t acknowledge! Unpopular high school kid shows up to a party, ends up in confrontation with jock. Eventually goes on to discover he has a “destiny” that will save the world, all rooted in his grandfather’s discovery long, long ago. Oh, and in the end, he gets the hot girl.
Seriously, it’s like someone at Fox saw Transformers, and said, “We gotta make that movie. What big-name anime can we adapt and throw some high school stuff and hot girls into?” XD

This is called a theme. Every movie will fall into only one of about 17 or so themes. Its how the movie makes the theme there own that realy matters. sometimes movies can have more than one theme also.

@Moi: Now that you put it that way, I’m going to compare DB as a mix between Transformers and Spider-Man when it comes to the high school thing because it seems Goku does everything Sam does, Chi-Chi is like Sam’s crush, and then Goku finds out he has super powers after fighting the Flash Thompson rip-off bully. I wouldn’t be surprised if he dodges the bully’s punch by doing the Matrix-dodge then grabs the bully’s fist and throws him across the hall.

I think everyone is rushing to judgement about this movie. As little as we know about the plot of the movie, we know even lessabout gokus back story in the film. Perhaps this is his first year of school, maybe he reallyhas been secluded most of his life and can’t even realize that his strength is abnormal. And as far as the comparison between transformers and dragon ball, I wanna say something. Imagine this is December 2006 and your following the transformers movies jus like this one. Now imagine if you knew hardly anything and then someone came onto the blog and said he read some of the script, and he then told you that the autobots and the decepticons both came to earth looking for a pair of glasses that are being sold on ebay. I hope you’re like 7 or whatever because that’s the only way I can see people liking it so much. Even so, any smart kid out there should see how hollow a movie it is. None of the autobots are really fleshed out which makes them dull and boring eye candy (if you can see them with all the fast cutting), megatron’s not in the movie for like 90% of it for whatever reason, Sector 7 was silly, the fat nerd was stupid, and of course Watch Small soldiers to see what the movie was based on btw. I liked transformers the first time when it was that movie.
@J: considering how the story has changed i would treat this movie as an alternate timeline in which gohan decides for him and goku to go into the civilized world so goku could have more interactions with people. for all we know don’t take my word for it, in the original manga grandpa gohan may have thought of taking goku into the civilized world until he met his demise. as i was saying wong may have taken the high school element of the buu saga. just like chichi with gohan, GG may have home schooled him and at the same time training him to support himself if he was to die. so that’s my backstrory for this “Ultimate” timeline of dragonball and why grandpa gohan is still alive.
I wonder if hercule will make a geuse appearence. maybe fight (before he gets a stomach ache) in the martial arts tournement. @ niles , transformers is just a eye candy movie that is made to entertain. Idoubt that they went out there to make a classic out of it.

Krillin dies in the first episode of the picollo saga and they can easily add him in when they make z. @ nelson your thinking to much like there gonna make it like the manga. Pic Jr and pic will be rolled into one character I think that has allready been said. Kid gohan might not even be in z. Chi chi might be just pregnent with him at the begining and then is born when goku dies(if he dies) then picollo comes and nabs him sencing his extreme baby power.
@dbzf084: i understand that the manga and anime was really long, probably one of the longest stories i know, but im talking about the way those other movies were produced. They kept the feeling of the actual comics and im pretty sure dragon ball is not that complicated to be portrait almost identical in that sense. i think my biggest dissapointment right now is the drastic change in the story, but like some other people have said, maybe the movie will be fantastic, with a plot that would actually work and make sense. i wish a trailer was on its way soon…

What are some of you talking about, its too early to start promoting, youre like little kids who cant wait for christmas. The damn movie is still almost 8 months away! Winter still has to come and go, by then the NFL season would have been over for 2 months already and baseball would have started again, hell, some of you might not even be virgins anymore. Do some of you guys have nothing else going on in your lives and all you do is dwell on this movie and count the days? (dumb question) And what was I thinking bringing up sports on here… anyway, come on now, im just as excited as the rest of you about this movie but its just a damn movie, be patient, we waited this long!! The trailer should come in November/December and strong promotion should start in January… not now! At least then the movie wont be so far away and it’ll stay fresh in peoples minds. Its not like all the complaing about no trailer or promotion just started either, this has been going on for months now!

@dbzf084: Yeah, any media that follows some kind of plot (movie, book, TV show) has a theme. But still, did they really have to put in the high school theme? Dragon Ball is so popular that it wouldn’t really be necessary to adapt the show to appeal to pre-teens and teens; it already is adapted to their target audience! Dragon Ball’s appeal is in the character of Gokuu, who isn’t by any means a normal boy, and I believe his character and circumstances appeal to a worldwide audience. This is me speaking purely from a business decision, plus knowing how popular the show is, from my POV it would be more likely to drive fans away. I know I’m pretty tolerant of adaptations but a lot of people on here would refuse to see the movie if someone’s clothing weren’t right or something petty like that.
But any way I do agree with jake above - this movie has been a loooong time coming. I remember hearing about it in 2003 (from Fox no less) and for a while there were so many rumours floating around that no-one knew what’s what. I can wait a little while…let’s face it, the movie isn’t going to go away. It’s going to be released whether you like it or not, so hang in there =P

Like jake said and I said earlier promoting a movie doesnt have anything to do with when they finish making it or the trailer but when the marketing team thinks it will be the best time to create intrest in the movie. most movies dont promote within 6 months of release. Promoting even just a trailer to soon could see the intrest in the movie spike to early way before the realease date then people wouldnt be as keen to see it. Dont worry its a complecated procedure to determine the release date of the trailer that involves money/budget, research and a calender with some darts.

Harry Potter may have shown a trailer already but it is also Harry Potter. The biggest serious of books in history along with some of the biggest movies in history. If Dragonball does well in theaters which I’m sure it will then for the next movie you may see a trailer come out long before the movie does. You will see one for Dragonball shortly you just can’t be impatient about it. If they are waiting for this long my guess is that they want it to be as perfect as it can be. Trying to show what it will be like while not revealing too much at the same time.

I’m sorry but… do you guys (the supporters) not realize what’s going on here? Initially, I was excited when I heard that they were planning on sort of making the plot more in-depth. But… ALL THEY MANAGED TO DO WAS THE EXACT OPPOSITE! This “adaption” has an even more cliche plot than the freakin’ anime - a Hollywood movie. How ridiculous is that? In no way does it help them to get rid of Goku’s actual youth of growing up without an education and making all his friends his classmates in a high school. My two-year-old little brother could’ve thought of a great plot like this.

Well, much is known about the plot already like - that of which I mentioned. Also, since the book is supposedly based on the movie, then that summary should apply for the movie as well - that being very plausible. Based on the known facts, it can already be applied that the plot is cliche and unthoughtful. Ok, some people dont like the plot, thats alright, what would have been a better idea then? What should they have done to make it better? I know, Goku works at a video store and thats where he meets Roshi in the dirty movie section, or how about he volunteers at a homeless shelter and he meets Chi Chi when theyre serving bums soup, and Yamcha’s a bum… wait, of course, Goku takes karate class and everyones in his class and thats how they meet, and grandpa Gohan lives next door to Mr. Miyagi…. So what if he’s in high school, he’s 18 and he’s in high school, man thats unheard of, the movie sucks now, who cares, they gotta start the stupid story somewhere and introduce certain people somehow… i guess the movie should just start with him training out in the wilderness with Gohan and he runs into people out there, then goes to the tournament and meets everyone else,(Krillin, Tien, the whole gang) then after Piccolo kills Gohan him and his new friends go to Roshis house to train and then look for dragonballs so they can go find Piccolo and kill him, awesome, a 30 minute movie. Man, the movies done, none of us can change it, Im watching it.

What kind of questions is that?… To make some of these decisions they made, they must have thought about it no longer than you did when you came up with your sarcastic ideas. There are many movies completely fictional and the elements they changed for this movie don’t change a single thing in terms of realism. If they deepened the story and did the whole thing live-action, how is that even close to being the same as watching the anime? It’d be completely different o.0;;
Plus, in the case of Dragon Ball, it’d be better to satisfy all the fans and get them to watch it then to do what they’re doing now, make more than half the fans hate the movie, and maybe gain a few viewers that aren’t familiar with DBZ. Though, as you say, realistically, for the most part, people that aren’t familiar with DB wouldn’t go to watch it anyway and anything they’d do to attract more people could’ve been done the same exact way if making the movie to make the fans happy.
I think it would break copyright laws if they did the movie exactly the same as the anime, personally I’m glad they have a plot different to the anime… It reminds me of the movie Resident Evil.

@lemonhead: actually i kinda disagree. im telling you, if i suddenly ran into a legendary figure such as master roshi and he tought me how to kick ass like no one else than my life story would be called “Dragon Ball: The Legend Comes to Life” (yeah i was honestly like that). i dont have a real problem with it. In spiderman and transformers the highschool facter played a really small role in the film, and i have no doubt that this will be the same.

Second off, in the beginning Dragonball was supposed to be a comedy with a bit of action. But as the story developed it turned more serious and not kiddie at all.
If you watched the original japanese version you would know that at the end of DB and all DBZ the story gets more “epic” and “mature” no kiddie at all.
The problem is that people in the USA think Dragonball and DBZ is a “show for kids” because they butchered many action scenes “not suitable for children” and toned down the dialogue too in the whole darn series. Even in the Un-Cut Remastered dvds that are being released (which I have bought all so far) the dialogue is still butchered and toned down compared to the original japanese dialogue. Also in the spanish version (the version most “close” to the original japanese version) the dialogue is also toned down so it can be suitable for children, and some sex-jokes parts are also cut, but the blood and such is still left there.
My point is that DB and DBZ is not a kids show at all, not if you watch the original japanese version which unfortunately has never been duplicated in any other country. All versions outside japan are censored a bit (or a lot) one way or the other.
Now, Typhoon has some good points but I disagree with him and im gonna watch this movie considering it an alternative time. Im accepting the changes because its an adaptation and if I wanted to see the same story as the anime, then I would just watch the anime. Im happy that the story is changed a little, because that way I wouldnt know everything that will happen.
I have faith in this movie and im very positive it will do well. Im sure James Wong has a surprise for all of us under his sleeve.

In any case, the footage in the Remastered is completely uncut and it can be watched in Japanese with subtitles so… yea. Plus, the first, exactly 1.8, seasons of the Remastered have pretty decent dubs. It’s just that afterward, there’s very little redubbed and the original “cut” dialogue remained the same.
Back to the movie - well, I have trouble having hope for anything positive in a movie after so many things have been done wrong because it leads me to conclude that James Wong as well as others don’t know what they’re doing… Know what I mean? It’s too much of a slap in the face to trust in them at this point.
Hey I have a question. We all know Lord Piccolo will be in it. We also know in the anime, Goku kill King Piccolo and he spits the Piccolo Jr. egg. Does this mean Piccolo Jr. will be in the movie o.O?I know this is probably a dumb question but I just wasn’t for sure because I just keep hearing King Piccolo and not Piccolo Jr.

Oh yea, I meant to say the english dialogue is still toned down in the remastered DVDs. But its good that there is an option to watch it in the japanese language with subtitles (or even watch it in english with the english subtitles of the japanese dialogue). Which is awesome.
About the movie, well right now at this point, and to be honest none of us can really say for sure if the movie will be good or bad, we need to wait for a trailer and then for the movie itself to know well.
Some of us have hopes and faith in the movie, and some are against it. Its common and normal, it always happens, especially with movies with huge fanbase as this one. The same happened with Transformers and X-men with their first movies. Also the same happened with Ledger (the guy who played the role of the Joker in The Dark Knight), some fans hated it when he was announced as the joker. At the end The Joker turned out to be the “star of the movie” to say it that way.
Like I said, lets wait for the trailer and the actual movie.

Movies like Transformers were based on things not as popular as DBZ, changed around, but done at a very high professional level unlike here, where they took something more popular and are doing it on a low level. There is no way this movie is going to be anything close to the insane amount of time and graphics that was put into Transformers. What is there, one guy working on special effects here? It’s just, I could always tell what a movie is about before it comes otu though you’re right, I usually need a trailer. I’ll tell you one thing - I was wrong about Dark Knight (first case), but I’m 100% sure here. This movie might as well be done by some random fans that know how to work a camera and Adobe After Effects.

I’ve also been thinking… After putting so much time into researching a movie and finding info about it, isn’t incredibly disappointing to see this movie turning out the way it is? I’m not entirely sure what your position is on this movie but didn’t you have different thoughts about what it could be when you started? I used to come here daily until the pictures of the actors in the movie started showing up at which point I started crying at how very little was attempted to get them to look like they did in the anime, also at which point I realized this movie is going in a completely different direction that I could’ve ever imagined.
Update on the novel. Here’s the rest of the stories:
The Discovery (80 pages) : Goku thought he was just a normal kid until his whole world got turned upside down. It was bad enough that his grandpa just died. But now he’s got to save the whole world from a madman who is looking for the seven Dragon Balls. Whoever finds them all can have any wish come true! Can a regular guy like Goku become the strongest fighter of all in time to stop the end of the world?
The search (80 pages) : Goku just found out that he’s not a normal high school student. In fact, nothing about him is normal. He’s actually a martial-arts warrior who has to save the world! He and his powerful new friends are on a quest to collect all seven Dragon Balls before the evil Piccolo finds them first and uses them to take over the universe!
La Battle (80 pages) : Collect all seven Dragon Balls and you can get whatever you wish! Sounds great to Goku, who thought he was a normal high school student until he found out he’s actually a martial-arts warrior on a quest to save the world. But someone else may have gotten to the Dragon Balls first, and that guy’s wish is to control the world! Now, Goku and his new friends must battle the evil Piccolo with all they’ve got. The whole universe hangs in the balance!
I’ve sen a lot of bad movies. If this does end up a bad movie, there’s only one way this can be one of those “so bad it’s good” movies, and that’s if the cast has excellent chemistry. There’s nothing better than watching a bunch of actors just having a good time making complete crap I say.

There is 3 things I hate how Fox made Dragonball:
1.No Krillin and Krillin is Goku’s best friend,they should at least put Krillin in High school with Goku or put Krillin when ever Goku started Training with Master Roshi.
2.No Tien and his Midget friend both of this guys are also Goku’s main friends.
3.Goku going to school
I hope Dragonball Z will be better and hope the story gets just like the animated series.

The director of promotion told Christina Inman the teaser would be released in August or September. So hold on. And Fox usually markets their films only about 3-6 months before they’re set to release.

@SSJ Jon: Its just a way of stating that the specific story is considered to be an actual part of the official story or timeline, or it’s just some adventures that took place on the side. Like the Dragonball Z animated movies, took place in the same universe, etc. But the events had no affect on the events of the anime.

What did happen though in GT? Funimation made it looked like he didn’t die, but in the Japanese version, they kind of left it up to the viewer as to whether or not he was killed.

I really think that they are gonna screw up the anime and I think that the pure fans will not love the movie.
The history of the movie wasn’t made by a dragon ball true fan.
Granpa Gohan was killed by Goku while transformed in giant monkey, Goku wasn’t in high-school (he isn’t spider-man)… A trilogy isn’t suficient to tell all the story… They should have made a story like DragonBall OAV, a story in the middle of the whole story.
I can remember the LOTR pure fans dissapointed by the movies.
I think that DragonBall the movie will be like Batman movies… Someone destroy’s it and a decade later, someone creates “THE” movie.
This will be another Final Fantasy - The Spirits Within error like: Great for the eye but s*** for the mind.

we need some real news, for one, but back to my point.
This movie is about 7 months away and they dont have a teaser out? They need to step up, and i mean real quick.
I have faith in this movie, although im still skeptical. It seems true to its roots from pictures that i’ve seen. Ofcourse they cameo’ed alto of stuff, like goku going to school ect. 120+ million dollar budget does resemble the spiderman series movie budgets, so i expect greats. Piccolo i kno is going to be badass, james is a hellah good actor, and so is justin chatwin. I do expect a ‘joker/heath’ type of preformance from justin in this movie. Unfortunately, if he fails to produce, its going down as the biggest bust ever, in movie history. He was great in war of the worlds and the invisible. Chow-yunfat is washed up but he would fit this role perfectly, although he does need a beard, but lets face it guys, u cant find a 100 year olf man who can do kung-fu and live for 2 more movies lol. Marsters is gonna rock this movie, and their make-up guy is going to rock it with his techniques.
My greatest fear is that its going to over use the CGI
I hate exaggerated cgi, i hope that they dont base their foundation on kung fu hustle and shaolin soccer, although the fight scenes were good, the cgi portions were horrible. Although again, those were made in the early 2000’s. I hope its mroe like ‘The One’, that movie was a good martial arts movie, nice view from wong in that movie.
Dark knight, good movie, no cgi.

Keep in mind that the book is for fairly young kids - the recommended age group is 9-12. And the other accompanying chapter book is for younger kids (7-10). Anyone expecting great literature is going to be disappointed. Taken for what it’s worth, though, it’ll probably be fine.

I think no one should go to see the movie. It will be spend your money to see something away different of what you was waiting for. First because the actor is going to be playing Goku is a weak skinny boy that don’t have even have of Goku’s body. Any of the actor look like the cartoon once. I think they have forgot of what make dragon ball famous. Dragon Ball became famous because the big and define muscles of the characters and principally the intensive action have….
