Edward French (make-up artist) posted a new set photo of Piccolo (James Marsters) on his official website. He states that he can’t show Piccolo’s face yet due to the request of Fox, but promises a behind-the-scenes photo gallery when the film is released.

do this ppl know that the target audience for the movie should be the same that followed dragon ball when it came out?? when i was 7-8 years old now im 21.. so yeah the movie should be targeted to 21 and over not 2+.. this whole thing looks so infantile… piccolo looks nothing like the green guy i knew 13 years ago…so what im saying most of dragon balls fan are adults now and kids today dont know what dragon ball is so it would be a fail making it more of a kids movie.. when dragon ball was more of a fighting,comedy,perverted a bit show.

Sorry to say this i know it takes a lot of work to get the result, but Piccolo can be more greener and his eyes bigger and good antennas to, look good at the anime piccolo his face is some different. Try to make the look more personality the anime dragonball people wil love that.

These reactions I’m reading are actually pretty funny because they were so predictable. Everyone hates how Piccolo looks at first on this site, then some people make some bs up that he’s supposed to be yellow because of either a green screen issue (even though they’re using blue screens for this movie), because he was locked up in a jar (even though in the anime he was even darker than usual when he was released from his jar), or because this is King Piccolo, not Piccolo Jr. so it somehow doesn’t count. Then everyone goes into denial and say’s ‘WHOAAAAAA!!!! THAT IS SO FREAKIN AWESOOMMME!!! Say something now, haters!” Even though the many of the same people who say that were the same ones hating the first photos.

I like Piccolo’s outfit, it kind off ressembels the true King Piccolo, hope that he becomes more greener when he wishes the young wish. And I hope James Marsters (Piccolo) is taller than Justin Chatwin (Goku). I think no matter if he is not green the movie will still be kick ass!!

Maybe the pic we saw the other day wasn’t the full pictuer of him, they might do some CGI lol. Maybe not. He still looks evil. But then that is the older Piccolo, So maybe in Dragon Ball Z if they make it, he be the Piccolo we all love
OK, this is more like it. I thought the face looked stupid at first, but it’s starting to grow on me. Also the more people try to convince me that they should have made him green and given him antennas with there photoshop mock jobs, the more I understand why they made him pale. Seriously, I’ve yet to see a single live action mock up of a green piccollo that even comes close to looking as good as what the actual film makers have done. It’s the same story as when images from the transformers movies where being released. Everyone did there little photoshop mock jobs to try and convince people that the robots would have looked better if they looked like they did in the cartoon. Well guess what, nobody could come up with anything that even came close to matching what michael bays effects team had done. And now it’s happening again with picollos design. Just wait untill the movie comes out folks, then you’ll see.

I think that would be a horrible idea. As fans, we should want the movie to appeal to more audiences because we want everyone one to share in the joy that Dragonball has brought us. Actually, come to think of it, I have pants just like Lord Piccolo’s, but it’s for my Sith Lord Halloween outfit. It still looks exactly the same. What you do is get some loose-fit black-grey pants from the store and put some boots over them and it looks exactly the same. Either that or if you can sew or know someone who can, it’d be pretty easy to just make some loose-fit pants like that and it’d look authentic.
@Jadix: they’re already making DB Online (from Toriyama, replaces GT’s story) as well as an animated special. They’ve been in production for quite some time and have nothing to do with this movie.

For the third film we need to just have Goku become super saiyan and leave earth to go train with the gods. The way I look at super saiyan power is that it is tapping into realms of power that go beyond this dimension and some how goku cracked through to access it. That’d be a good way to approach it instead of turning it into child’s play. The theme of Dragonball 3 should be “what do you do with the power of a god?” Can goku even continue to live among his peers even though he’s become so powerrful?

Also, how much of a rocket scientist do you need to be to figure out how a make-up session goes? Seriously, and the guys cant reveal it? They already released the photos a few days ago, what does it matter? It makes no sense. Ive seen a lot of make-up applications, it’s a very easy process, and it doesnt take much to figure out how it was done.
Also, this new look for Piccolo was a team effort by several producers who wanted to get rid of the older Piccolo designs from the show because of the middle-eastern offensiveness it may encure, which is so racist to begin with anyways. It’s just really insulting to see how much Fox, and this whole project tries to insult our intelligence and integrity as TRUE fans of the series.

You would be correct my friend. As ive said, this is milking by 20th Century Fox. They want to take Dragonball, make some lousy movies, and make money. Simple as that.
If they had any respect for the real material, the movie would be vastly different from what we are seeing now.
The script is horrible, the story is so bad I cringed when I was reading it. It is really terrible, really, really terrible. Uwe Boll Script terrible.
I don’t know how in the world they agreed on this script, it is so bad. It has some of the worst references to the Dragonball series.
Did you know they give the story of Piccolo fighting for the Dragonballs in a fictional Highschool educational dockumentary? I was so angry with that. And then there’s a video game Goku and his friend play called “Dragon Ball”.
I wish this movie would die, and the opening of the film is a page right out of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Basically Goku and Gohan have a pointless fight that proves Goku’s coming of age is not yet ready, but sets uo that he will be by the end of the film.
God almighty this movie sucks. How did they come up with this stuff?

My guess is Wong didn’t completely change the whole thing based on tidbits of info leaked about the movie’s actual story from guys like Wasinthemovie. Oh yeah, scientists are going to recreate elements of the Big Bang this Wednesday using that particle colliding mechanism, which in the process if a black hole is created we’ll all get ripped in half, then those halves will be ripped in half and so-on and so-forth (kind of like in Spider-Man 2, but instead of a sun, a black hole). If you truly believe that’s what made Goku and Master Roshi then you never understood there characters. You only watch the show for appereance and clothes!! Dragonball was watch for it’s amazing story and fight scenes. You must of never seen Chow yun fat act, because if you did you would know he is a versatile actor. He always switches up his role!!

Why would you want the movie to be predictable? If you want everything to happen the same exact way on the show. @ROBERT G: Those that say this movie will be awesome aren’t kids for real. They are marketeers paid to promote this movie in what they call “viral marketing”. They make it look like it comes from a fan to give it more credibility, because people tend to believe more in people that think alike than in advertisement.

The difference is that the people who bash the movie out-number the people who love everything (which I doubt there are any). Fact is that we’ve become a lot more cynical now as a group having been dissappointed in recent years with poor adaptations of superheros and stuff. This could very likely be no different. I only hope the cast and crew didn’t worry themselves to such an extent that they look nervous and jittery on screen. It’s just dragonball, one of the most flexible and free fantasy stories every created. It’d take a lot to screw it up.

yeah same here, there are stuff i think are great about the movie and then there are things that i think completely are shit, so final judgement will be made when I see that movie, thats the only way any of us can truly call this movie ”epic,awesome” or ‘’shit,craptastic” or not
Joon Park IS Yamcha, that much is certain. He’ll be a blast I’m sure. From the videos I’ve seen of him online, the man is exactly what yamcha is, wild, charismatic, doesn’t give a shit, badass. I hope that’s how he is in the movie. He should be this cynical maverick that’s sort of the anti-thesis to goku’s good natured character.
Piccolo looks fine to me. Adam will agree… Though I can see what Marsters meant when he said that the producers removed pieces from the sculpt for his make-up. I guess we’ll get a better idea of how aged they made him look when we see the high quality trailer at some point. Overall though, it’s an alien with pointy ears, what more do you want?

@Martha: I think that’s the lighting. They made it blurry on purpose, plus we all saw the official, clear, color photos which revealed no antennae. So I think the chances of there being antennae are around the same as the particle accelerator creating a black hole that’ll suck in the entire solar system. Anyways in my opinion i thought x-men 1 was alright, i liked x-men 2.. And x-men 3 was w.e to me.
Well since Lord Piccolo = King and Jr Piccolo since they said it was going to be like that.
I would like the last fight to be like the one Goku vs Piccolo Jr. The fighting style was pretty epic and amazing..
I loved the fights from DB and DBZ from piccolo saga to freeza saga.. Don’t get me wrong buu and cell were awesome too.. But if you re-watch the frieza saga you can see how brutal those punches are between goku and frieza , let alone ssj goku and 100% frieza
and the saiyajin saga.. was amazing especially in the magna.. Raditz takes on piccolo and goku 2v1 with ease.. and then goku vs vegeta.. where each fighter is at the brink of death.. those are the fights id most remember from DB and DBZ. where all seems lost… bleeding and broken bones.. and BAM suprise

After seeing this Piccolo I think the movie should be called “Goku: the vampire slayer” or “Star Trek: dragon ball generation” or the power rangers musical one.

Look everyone just needs to realise that this move is what it is..an adaption. There is no way possible to fit the DB series into a hour and a half movie.
