This is an unusual picture, but we get a great shot of Piccolos head and boy is it repulsive and nasty (Which is good IMO) . Goku just casually dodges as Piccolo punches. Hopefully the trailer will put this picture into perspective.

Chatwin suits the part so well.Much like that boy who played peter pan or chrostopher reeves superman.So far he is more impressive than piccolos take on marsters.
I feel like the set design is unbelievably horrible looking. I’m hoping they do some wicked color correcting to give it a less set-like feel. I’m still trying to stay positive until I actually see all this in context.

He said: “Dragonball is a film that has a constant evolution, much of which will arrive in cinemas will be created digitally and enhanced with CGI technology. Ed French - Thanks for your interest in the make up of Dragonball. But you would have to know, that the FOX has his own publicity, and this prohibited to me to comment any detail on the make up, the script, and the production until the film is released. Thanks for your understanding.

M * - Could you give your opinion on the film of Dragonball?
Ed French - I am going to comment some things. Dragonball is a film with a very constant evolution, much that will arrive at the cinemas is created digitally and improved with cgi. All the boys of the FOX were crazy when seeing a part of the film with cgi, and I believe that fans also will be it.
M * - Your are the one that made the decisions on the me up and the appearance from several characters, right?
Ed French - In the beggining the first decisions on the ” visual” of the film and the design of the characters were realised by the producers in Hollywood and of the director James Wong, I was in favor only in charge of the make up of James Marsters (Piccolo). While I agree that getting too worked up over one picture is a bit silly Grom, I am still looking forward to at least seeing the film. I too am 23 and I am also a long time fan, but still, I want to see this movie just to see what they do with it. I’m comfortable enough with the original canon storyline to welcome an interpretation. But I’m going to reserve my judgements of the film until after I see it on a movie screen.

Final fight: Piccolo receives a KameHameHa and exploits. We see just pieces of his armor and a green liquid (yeah! he was definitively green) Then a moribund Mai takes the sword and points it to the sky screaming “Piccolo, Grow Up!”
A thunder comes down to the remains of Piccolo and Giant Piccolo appears! Goku can´t believe it! His “Flying Nimbus” (A yellow spaceship that turns into a KameZord is already destroyed) then Goku looks at the moon and turns into Oozaru (Ultraman music starts) then the last fight begins: kick, punch, kick, punch, and finally Oozaru takes the power pole and destroyed Piccolo. Oozaru Goku truns around himself and Giant Piccolo exploits.
Goku turns into his original state and celebrates with ChiChi, Bulma,Yamcha and Roshi. A lot of multicolor explosions appear and They jump at the same time.

i want piccolo in this film to be killing inocent people for him to be ruthless and destroy cities
the final fight is at the Volcano , this is not the Volcano scene piccolo is not fully green. My guess is this is Goku second run in with Piccolo. Piccolo is wearing his battle armor and GOku’s Gi is orange so this is atleast a little after the half way point of the film. But the whole stages of green of piccolo he wont be fully green IMO until the very end when he is reborn ect

Loving the photos- the one of Goku vs. Big Green looks pretty good, despite it being an action shot. Action shots hardly ever look good, as they don’t portray the dynamincs of the shot, so considering this, I think it will be amazing!
I highly doubt that it is a punch that piccolo has made, as there would be no need for goku to move back that much, he would simply shift his head to the side. I think that it is much more likely a ki blast that went over gokus chest, MATRIX STYLE
- a great thing in my opinion, as long as it’s not like slow motion and everything like the matrix (the odd bit would be awesome though!)…

on a side note there are some and i mean some wrestlers who could fit the role of some dragonball characters I would love to see the rock as Captain Ginyu (I HATE WRESTLING ITS SO LAME) but some of those guys have a little acting experience and in most of the case the bigger the guy the dumber they are aka Racoom , so they wont have to say much and it would suit the character. BUt on a whole other spectrum I think Tony Ja should play Freezer he was born to play a dragonball character. Djimon Hounsou was also born to play a Db character. But seriously once this one is out and people love it expect some bigger names wanting to join in on the fun Look a Leo Decapreo hes Making/staring in AKIRA. The whole superhero thing is getting real popular again and actors see where the great stories are and deep characters also the big fat paychecks in the end.

This version of dragonball is a lot more realistic than the anime. This is becuase it would have to be in order for non-fans to better realte to it. Sure if it was true to the anime to the dot, it would be great for us, but then non-fans would simply laugh at it…
In the real world, if chi-chi got involved with demons and those kinda things, she wouldn’t stand a chance, and so would obviously carry some suped up weapon, I know I would (if I wern’t a ssj4 that is

@ that guy if you knew anything about this film Mai tricks goku morphing into chichi’s form lol even in the promo trailer we see a chi chi vs chi chi fight and the gun she is holding it the one strapped to Mai’s hip. Chi Chi is a fighter the only time i recall her picking up guns was when she wanted to goto Namek.
Bulma’s used guns so i doubt chichi would hold a gun badass assassin style the second she was to pick it up. its possible its chichi but i bet 99% of us think its Mai for sure.

One thing I hope is that the trailer won’t show way 2 much for example
1) superman returns (I think, the last 1 dey made) - It showed that scene wit the plane falling down n I was crazy hot buh dat was it that was the best part, visually, in da movie (movie sucked 2 it was 2 long n boring)
2) ironman - the trailer showed the scene wit the planes n it was cool buh anticipated n the escape scene was obvious 2 n him buildin his final suit was kinda given way (good movie dough personally I liked the incredible hulk more)
3) the dark knight - 2 me all the great scenes were showed in the trailer except the scene were batman kicks swats ass (great movie)

But anyone notice the Logo on Goku’s belt? I thought it was just like a wrap of some sort, but there is a circle with the same emblem he has on his shirt, kinda like a belt buckle. Pretty cool if you ask me. I love Piccolos head too, makes him really look like an alien.

Actually, it IS odd for DB, but in the first half of DBZ, ChiChi always had a friggin’ armory upstairs. Every time she thought Gohan was in any kind of danger, she’d go strap ‘em on and come down with enough bullets to sink a battleship.
So, while there are convincing arguments that this is Mai as ChiChi (because they’re right that the gun was on Mai’s hip in other shots), it wouldn’t be sooo bad.

Hulk is really one of the those awesome movies you haven’t seen, Like Blood Diamond had never seen it or bothered to but the other night I was like WHY NOT and it was one of the best movies I have seen in Years. And I’ll watch at least one movie a night. If you haven’t watched the new Death Race check it out it will honestly be 100xs better then what you thought it was.(nothing like the original death race 2000 but still a fun flick) My own personal DvD collection is minimum 200 movies not to mention 2 big boxes of Vhs tapes all films I do not own on DvD yet. you could say I’m a movie Buff

it would have been better if IronMan Was Hammered outa his mind and couldn’t fight properly due to his substance abuse but then thats a whole other ball of wax and I would have liked to see More IronMan killing terrorists ect and a way longer fight at the end. Hulk Had a good balance IMO because you atleast need to see Bruce’s side unlike other Characters where you know its them and they still are thinking in the same mind frame where as HULK is an Beast on a rampage. The final Fight scene was shot in my home town (Hamilton) and I got to see the set full of wrecked cars and a bus on fire. so think of me when you see them go toe to toe at the end LOLS

Think about all the little things the team worked on to make this movie still true to the style of the anime. They kept the cyber-punk technology, they could have gotten rid of it entirely and made it more of an ancient world. They actually used the smoke/dust used ALOT in the series. They tried to keep vehicles similar to their original counterpart.
and the haters will still say it is nothing like the series because of removed characters and piccolo evolving ..like freiza… I just got it..
LAWL THEY MADE PICCOLO LIKE FREIZA! That’s not a bad idea, just a bit strange. I guess they wanted to connect all the alien races by making them have the ability to change physically and grow stronger. That would mean that here in the first movie , we have Piccolo changing, and we could count Vegeta in the next movie because of his Oozaru form, and then Freiza in the third.

The background looks kind of cartoonish though. I know they fought in the mountains a lot but those rock pillars just seem kind of fakish .. I don’t know how to put it exactly but the set to me really looks like a small theater set instead of a background movie setting, maybe it’s just me cause I’ve seen only a small part of the same setting continuously used in the other pics.

I must admit, the rocks do look kinda fake, but its just like the animated series where the rocks were like that, when krillin and goku pushed the rocks in order for master roshi to train them how to fight. Thats how they were in the show. So im not upset about any rocks. I am more than excited about the movie, I will watch it about 25 times, just so the makers make the most out of me as they possibly can, I support it, because since the 80’s Ive loved this show. I am happy to see my childhood show coming onto the big screen, and I hope everyone who doesnt know about dragonball, recieve the same fanatism that I endure. I love this show for many reasons, the main reason is because of the message it has to my children, and myself, I wish everyone grew up to be like goku, he is how every man should grow up to be. Of course, I took a more business oriented direction, and I couldnt completely fulfill my martial art dreams, but I hope my children will take that message and implement the message towards their advantage. Im not saying, they should fight, but always fight for whats right, and violence should be the last option. Thats what I learned from the manga. I hope thats what this movie teaches. And shit, Justin will be doin capoeira, I studied capoeira for 6 years, and I noted Justin doin a some mortals, and macacos (which a mortal is a backflip, everyone does that, but the macaco is a flip from the ground moving backwards and it means monkey) Well, thats all.

In the leaked movie trailer at 00:37 we see Goku being thrown at what appears to be some of those pillar things and what looks kind of cheesy to me is that the hole he leaves in it makes it seem like he just got thrown at some hollow styrofoam stage prop instead of something with a rocky or hard surface. I would expect that there would be at least some cracks running alongside the impact where his body hit but instead he just goes straight through it leaving only a hole the size of his body, I’m no impact specialist but that part looks a bit off to me, for now.

@DBFAN9000: Well as they’ve already stated, the special effects were not complete when they made this “trailer.” They probably just literally pulled Chatwin or his stunt double through a Styrofoam wall, which is why it looks that way. By the time the actual movie comes out they could have added lots of CGI dust, smoke, cracks, etc. Which I think they will. And for everybody that keeps saying that the rocks in the background look fake, that’s because they most likely are. Nothing new for a movie like this, they’ll depend on post production to give it that realistic look.
That picture of Goku and Piccolo is literally the best picture that I have seen thus far on this movie. I love every single thing about it. This is great, we’re getting many new pictures now, fantastic. Thanks to the hard workers at dbthemovie, you guys always bring the goods.

It is my job to come here and convince the 7 or 8 haters on these sights to go see the movie because if they dont see it the movie would shourly fail. We really need there combined 40 dollars to make this a succesful movie.

We have put alot of effort, time and money into making this movie and even though we had to make a few changes we are trying our best to transfer Dragonball to the big screen. However it is much harder to bring a movie based on an anime to life. There are big culture differences and colours , muscles, hair etc. are all over the top in manga.
Akira agreed with these changes even though he didnt want to work much on the movie, he basically took his paycheck and said do what ever you want. Last time we saw him he was bourding a plane to Hawaii.
Ofcourse we have been listening to what the fans want and have thought about puting in a 4 foot bald monk with no nose and 6 dots on his head as well as a talking pig that wears cloths, becuase like you we believe this will attract movie goers, just look at other movies that had talking pigs, Charlets web, Shrek, Crossroads, house of wax. Infact if you add up all the totals those movies made at the box office we will make bakc half of DragonBalls original budget! WOW, now that gets us excited!
So please stop hating the movie as fox is paying me $400 a week to get your combined total of $40.

The biggest difference between writing a game and writing a movie: Movies are about the story and characters. Games are about playing.

I’m certain that the picture of Jamie Chung with the gun is supposed to be Mai transformed. Notice Mai has that same gun in its holster in the photo of Mai. Plus that’s the same outfit we see in the trailer where the two ‘Chi-Chis’ face off.
