The title for this post pretty much explains it all. We’ve got a new Piccolo (James Marsters) and Mai (Eriko Tamura) set photo to share with you today. And they happen to be standing on a rock.

Those boots are similar to the shoes piccolo originally had, they are a bit twisty and such…i can’t explain it but i’d effin love those boots.

Looks tight, wonder how he fights with heavy boots on, but I guess it doesn’t matter for them anyways, Piccolo is used to fighting with weighted boots and armor. Still, wish he looked more like the 2003 piccolo before that movie got canceled, it just looked more like piccolo. I want to see his uniform, the real one in the next movie, and longer ears, haha

@Boy: It’s not his phone, it’s a radio microphone. They use them to record the dialogue whenever they do long shots (and are shooting a scene quite far away from the actors, making sound recording really hard to do).

looks like king picollo old.
Also Im starting to think the fullum assasins are the part of the gods from the sky invasion team and they look alot like frieza henchmen, maybe they are in the film to ty it togeather with the sequal.
This is how I think the film will pan out.
Probaly starts with a flashback maybe with naration,
Pan into mai releasing piccolo they then go looking for the dragonballs.
Then we go to goku and his daily adventure of kicking bullies ass and stuff. He comes home and bulma is going through the house searching for db. They become friends shortly after a quick confrontation. Goku wants to know what bulma was doing there. Bulma decides to tell him over dinner. So she goies and buys him a giant turkey leg. After explaining everything goku sences a powerful character over at his house. They rush back but its too late the dragonball is gone and picollo has destroyed the house. They decide to follow him with the dragon rader. But they come across roshis db. Roshi comes home and fights goku. They then decide to go and search for the dragonball before piccolo. Piccolo then gets another dragonball and then blows up the city it was in. The others arrive to late and see the destruction. then roshi tells goku that he is the only one that can defeat piccollo. Goku see’s the destruction and says I dont know if im ready for this.
They then look for more balls and goku fights piccolo when they both go for the same one but picolo is to strong and wins.
Roshi then decides to take goku to the dragon temple where he will teach him the kamehameha. Piccolo attacks. Roshi trys to trap him with the evil containment wave but it fails. Piccolo flees with the dragonball to make his wish.
Goku trains harder than ever and goes to meet piccolo and the volcano. He yells at him for killing the mystics that created the dragonballs, but picollo tells him he was the one that created them along time ago to defeat a evil race, but seeing how humans are weak anyway he says that he truly is a god and deserves to control the universe. They fight for a while, then the eclipse happens, goku turns ozaru and wipes the floor with piccolo and destroys what ever else he can. When goku turns ozaru his tail grows back, they cut it off or piccolo destroys the moon. piccolo flees (but they believe he is dead) the fight, or he does die and flees back to his hideout first were he creates Jr. It is now time for the martial arts tournament. Goku makes it to the final round were he is surprised to be fighting picolo. THey have an epic battle with the end result beeing a kamehama to the head to give goku the victory. Piccolo is left to live where he swears he will return one day for vengeance, and goku says he will be waiting.
The movie ends with goku wishing back everyone piccolo killed. But for some reason gohan cant come back they have a funeral for him then. Goku places the dragonball on top of the gravstone then flys away.
end
Then after the credits we see radits crash on earth.

I know there are holes in it like the fullum assins and stuff but hey its what might sought of happen:)

Piccolo should have been played by a black guy, not that im racist but because, for about fifty years of slavery and beyond green was considered colored, thus black, and on top of that, id love piccolo to have a thug mentality rather than sound and act like a white dude, not that im racist, just that Gangster rappers sound a whole lot more evil and cooler than rock punks, on top of that I think 50 cent or tyrese from transformers would have some outstanding lines to drop down in the dialoge then this buffyloo namic who just looks like a white guy with green paint on him, rather than another race with a clear and apperant chip on his shoulder for all the racism he incountered when he commuted to earth. Although this movie is gonna suck, if thier is any remakes again of this very movie, theyll know what not to do, and thats cast piccolo as a white guy, when its obvious that even in the cartoon he’s not a white guy, hint hint. p.s havent whites been doing this for years, you know applying paint to thier skin in order to imitate colored people, and the worst part is that they never do a good job of it, so yeah this movie is gonna suck.

I feel like I am the only one who thinks Piccolo looks amazing and almost exactly like he did in the manga (I did a comparison between Piccolo Daimao from the Manga to James Marster’s Piccolo. Re: the height - once they cast Goku as someone only 5′11 they have to make sure his compadres aren’t taller than the star. Nevertheless Marsters is an excellent actor.

Re: Haqq -
While I agree whole heartedly that Haqq’s suggestions for specific people were poor because they can’t act, nevertheless he’s right that paying attention to race might have added something to the movie’s subtext which was absolutely there in the originals. Saying it should be gangsta is going too far though - an Hispanic or Asian Piccolo would have made the same point with a white main cast. I’d have preferred an Asian Goku and main cast but these producers know whether their demo is up for that. In the same way boys have trouble relating to female protagonists because they aren’t presented with stories starring girls as children but girls easily relate cause there just aren’t that many interesting books with female protagonists, I can imagine many white people have trouble relating to non-white protagonists (while non-white people are used to it).

Obviously for Haqq the racial subtext of the story was particularly important to him because he related and noone should attack him for that but he possibly didn’t realise that not everyone will have even seen that side of the story. A lot of people in the West are raised on cartoons as little more than shoot-em-ups or shallow laughs and don’t look for anything more. I’m white and was raised in Australia and saw the racial subtext clearly all the way through the animated series right along with the class subtext, Vegeta’s superiority complex tackled both those issues, but I grew up with access to Japanese cartoons/series and preferred them from a young age. Many Japanese anime and manga have a subtext which deals with social and philosophical point of view (Astro boy was about what it is to be human - you can’t get much deeper than that!) which of course people can choose not to/fail to see and still enjoy them (though I think they’d be missing out and hope that the point gets across subconsciously teehee).

Personally, I’ll reserve judgement till the movie is actually cut and on the screen AND I’ve seen it (though I am glad Piccolo looks greener than in previous shots lol)

Well duh, there is no reason for it to be green, if you can’t see them in the movie. These are just photographs with them out of character and on set.
Piccolo’s whole body is green just like his face, you cant apply make up under cloths cause it will smudge.

@Voice of reason?: I respect your comments towards me and take that rapper thing back, it was not really my intentions to imply the piccolo role should be a rapper, but still if they had of played around with the subtext of this movie, and put some real live literiture elements, they would have actually captured the whole principle of the DB saga, for instance vegeta, although not in this movie, has some serious racial complexes seen thoughout many races, Its not racial sterotyping I want to spire, it is more of pride that brings the concepts to a more realistic audience with multicultural favor. The chance of really looking into the audience’s race and instilling real pictures of how it can be destructive verses how it could aid the world, was lost in this movie to younger viewers who could honestly begin a stronger generational as well as cultural relation in our adoluscents’. This has been a milestone in development that has many times and again been overlooked, just to produce a story based on priceless fun. For this reason the movie industry is nothing more than an entertainment industry, rather than a true story telling genre of our past and future. Again I do not want to be raciest at all, but without seeking to instill a formal sense of multicultral dialoge the anime turned into movie, has become nothing more than a cartoon set in a live playlike performance. Vegetas race is based on an apelike testostarone driven alpha male character thus is the same for goku who should of been played as a young boy who lacks grooming and education and is driven purely by the animal instincts that give him only the necessities of life, such as be good, eat when hungry, and only kill when life is threatened, but they completely overhauled and overlooked all these elements to create a young man who is drivin solely by his peers as do all highschool students, for instance master ro calls him the choosen one, thus he feels obligated to be as such rather than being determined to protect life by defeating the predators who pray on his newly orphan inhereting family. This is also a factor they completely overlooked with piccolos character, thus making a movie that will not sell well do to lack of contemplation of where fox could take this movie to new hieghts of popularity. So overall this movie will suck, im not hating but honestly stories of all sorts usally are successful and pass on to the generations because of the moral it implicates, but this movie will only end up on dvd then in a garbage or recyclying plant for better quality movies to come, unlike starwars which is also about to follow the way of the dinosar because of its sellout attributes. It is plain to see that Fox, along with many other movie corps lack the true ability to understand what really sells, and what is just another cheep profit in the pocket. I for one thought that a million dollors was more than enough to produce a movie that amazed the world, but I was wrong, or just stuck in a relm of denying ideas because of dictorial pessimistic rehtoric that people like bush and businessmen alike take to a science. overall this movie could’ve been the best action movie to date.

Piccolo doesn’t look anything like he should. If he’s supposed to be the original evil lord piccolo, then his skin is too light, he shouldn’t have armor just a martial arts gi, the boots are messed up, and where the hell are his antennae? I think Piccolo is just great! He DOES have antennae, they are like looking backwards, not pointing up as in the cartoon. I think the antennae are just fine the way they are, imagine making them pointing up, they wouldn’t look good for me, too childish or not scary. I guess the word is adaptation…to make an adaptation requires certain changes (i.e. antennae shape)…he has them, just not exactly as in the cartoon. Adapt does not mean imitate. It would be the same if they represent Goku eating out of a bowl at light speed as they did, they wouldn’t do that, not real, not true, but they adapt that fact with a big piece of drumstick to show his anxiety while eating. Bulma’s hair is not all blue, just some parts and the same logic should be placed here..should she have all blue hair? This is just my opinion and from my point of view, adaptations are liable to change although always keeping the character’s spirit. Good point about his arm not being green!. Regards!

Anybody else notice that there are antennae in his head? I bet they come out in the movie, just you wait. I’m actually pretty excited. They have the dragonball wavy pants down as well, I see.

Also, I think one of the main reasons Piccolo looks so different in this one is to differentiate him from the good Piccolo that we will see in later films. They’ll want him to look less evil obviously. Even Piccolo Daimoh looked different from the Piccolo we all know and love. He looked older, in my opinion.

I await this movie with excitement, and I am a fan of the manga and anime.

if they did use a black guy as piccolo, here are some pointers in doing his makeup, for one he’s black, so they would have to use lighter colors in order to highlight the areas were the green appear, like his cheeks, nose and forehead, they wouldnt need any under his eyes but purhaps about his eyes, and the cheeks would probly have to be made from a silicon mold with an olive like green dye in it. But having a black person as piccolo would completely remold the look of piccolo instead of this jim cary look alike.

this movie is gonna be so lame that they had to explain the trailer to us, do to the trailers lack of self explination. I guess they just put in so many lame scenes that the whole movie is hard to keep up with as well as difficult to be excited about. They really need to trash this film and remake it with a whole new cast and scenes. It lacks thought and imagry. I just got through seeing blade runner last night on sci fi, that movie will never go out of style, but the only reason why I wouldn’t let anyone make a sequel to it, is cause it has yet to be matched with any other movie, and the part two would only hinder its flavor. Fox throw this thing away, and save some embarassment, maybe even an fbi probe for all the tax payers money you’ve spent creating movies that have no consumer input in them whatsoever. And haters don’t really exist, what haters are, is a classification that rappers apply to honest critics, but because all those rappers are insecure about keeping their unearned title they classify the critics as haters. So in reality, not a tv sitcom, im a critic. fox you suck, why cause the forbidden kingdom sucked, unless you have a very child like mind, x-men 3 sucked, unless you just like cgi and spfx, chronicles on narnia sucked because nothing in that story had any morales just the same bible story my mom used to read to me at night, its old, I don’t really know if you made those movies but you might as well, cause most of foxes movies suck, your better off just hiring some random guy off the streets like me, im good at story telling.

if u wanna be all defensive or whatever, then i’ll ask u, why would u want them to change everything about the series so much? because if u honestly think they haven’t completely overhauled the story, the universe, and everything that is dragonball for this movie, u haven’t been paying attention. thats the plain and simple truth and anyone who openly disagrees could not possibly be respected by any dragonball fans.

i’m trying to be as objective as possible here, but as a db fan, its kind of hard. still, anyone who’s offended or defensive about what i’ve said has an obvious dislike for db fans in general.
