Maybe they kept that blonde chick from the first draft. O.o seems like it though I hope not. it all looks a bit serious… pretty cool, I like the teacher LMFAO. He LOOKS WAY LESS ANNOYING than in the first draft. Chi-Chi WHY SO SERIOUS.

In the first scene Goku looks like he’s almost in the back but in the other he’s in the front.

I think the Highschool scenes is going to be very good from what I see. I thought Spiderman and Transformers did a Excellent job with there highschool scenes.

@Mikey: SPIDER-MAN is a Classic!! I love that movie If DBE makes the highschool scenes as good as Spidey then im sold. It looks like DBE is going to make good use of the Highschool scenes from what I see in the Pics.

So I totally Agree with you Mikey, the highschool scenes look way better then I image. They look like there going to concentrate on the background of the story (the Eclispe and the history of Piccolo). Instead of waisting time talking about Math and English….

That is all wrong. It won’t work. It can’t work. What were they thinking that Goku could be turned into Gohan and everything would work just as well ?
If this movie was the beginning of the Majin Buu Saga then it could have worked but since it should be the beginning of the whole story and so it should be Dragonball … it just won’t work.
FOX with this movie will have managed to disappoint the majority of fans worldwide and the movie will look a cheap asian hong kong martial arts thing to the large public that don’t know what Dragonball would be about. Why ?
Simply because this movie is not a fantasy/sci-fi movie as Dragonball and Dragonball Z really are all about.

If he does go to High school, though, and then he went to look for the dragonballs, does it mean he’s a dropout? Mr.Webmaster, if you don’t approve my messages then please explain otherwise I should think that you are a FOX employee not allowing people to write anything that doesn’t please FOX managers about this Dragonball movie that it’s highly likely to be a huge flop. Censoring people thinking that that is what’s going to happen won’t turn an announced flop into a blockbuster. If that’s the current plan B at FOX to save this movie from failure then they got it all wrong twice.

Finally we have some new updates from the film. im lovin these High School pics and the one where he’s at the party fighting those guyz! despite the fact the school scenes are suppose to be only 10 or 15 minutes i can now sort of see goku attendin school lol the 1st pic looks like he’s waiting for the luch bell LMFAO!!!! Hmm…the only one that bothers me is that last picture. I’ve said on one of my videos on youtube that Goku isn’t really a baby but the kid we all know and love and that he’s starting highschool. Kay, what are they going to do? It’s the LAW now that kids have to go to school, so unless you think Goku is one of those badass teenagers who drops out for no reason except to smoke pot and get drunk, he’s gona be going to High School in the movie. What are people who have never watched the anime gona say if they see some kid kicking ass in the mountains, not having to do anything but hang out with his grandpa his whole life? It’s a fucking two hour movie, and unless you watch the entire two hundred episode series, you wouldn’t understand the back story like we do.

Eventually he DOES drop out, but for a Goku-ish reason- to go and find all the dragonballs. I’m sure his classmates wouldn’t like it too much if Demon King Piccolo decided to drop in on their Biology class. He’s only in high school for a while until they can get a reason to pull him out of there as soon as they can. Dragonball Evolution has to appeal and make sense to ALL audiences, even those who don’t know anything about Dragonball history yet.

In the trailer it says that they have to find the dragonballs before the eclipse…the eclipse could just be related with the dragonball’s legend, or even with Picollo, not necessarily with tyhe Oozaru. I`m peruvian (ergo American too) and DB came as Dragon Ball. It`s not a problem for me, but it`s still a mistake. USA is not he center of the world and they didn`t make DB, so if they write Dragonball that doesn`t make it well-written.

and people get confused comparing the eclipse with oozaru, when IMO it`s more possible that the eclipse have so much to do with the Piccolo`prophecy.

from just reading the leaked old dragonball script i have a slight idea of what is happenin in the classroom in these pics they are studying the solar eclipse and the history of the demon king and the destryer Oozaru because to them that is history and the 7 great masters and how the Oozaru will be summoned on the solar eclipse since the Oozaru has turned 18 and then they wish from the dragon.

And so now the new FOX managers strategy is to first release thru “leaking” pictures and trailers and then order a removal of everything when they see too many people complaining and questioning what only seems a really bad adaptation?
Marketing wise this is a pretty lame and desperate move from FOX. They still have time to halt everything and not release the movie. Maybe they still think that they could break even at box office and then DVD/BD releases and merchandise and so on BUT it could get really hard to even achieve that. The most important thing is that this movie it’s going to kill the franchise completely and a reboot will be needed then. Cancelling the movie completely could still be the best thing to do instead of ruining the live action idea of Dragonball with a quite expensive movie that flops badly.

See, now I’m confused. Yeah, I’ve been quiet lately because I haven’t had any constructive criticism to throw the movie’s way since the trailer (don’t get me started, I beg you), and I try not to just complain without offering…well…if not a solution, at least a reason why something bothers me. I don’t be hatin’, and wouldn’t want to waste anyone’s time with it, anyway.

But now I’m wondering why FOX would request those pictures removed? Admittedly, they highlight what is universally considered the weakest part of the adaptation — see, I can use that word, too, heh — but really, they’re not controversial in the least. I can understand wanting to nix the Swamp Thing Goku. I can understand axing the “internal marketing” false trailer.

But a bunch of random pictures with nothing terribly comment-worthy in them, other than that they seemed to be tolerably in focus? That, I don’t get. Unless it’s a reverse-psychology attempt to bring our attention more fully to them. To get us to scrutinize them for what we might have missed, thus creating more buzz than such neutral pics would have, otherwise.

Hmmm…yet again, I find myself unable to decide if FOX is crazy like a…well, crazy like a fox, or just plain crazy. Interesting.

I just don’t get it…the gay comments especially i find harsh. What’s so bad about gay people? Do i seem like a bad guy to you? I’m just trying to bring peace. A guy named Martin Luther King Jr. did the same thing not too long ago (and before you start making RACIST comments too, i’m white. get over yourselves). Why is life a constant civil rights struggle? I don’t think he’s pointing it at him per-say. The pointer is irrelevant to what he’s saying notice where the teacher is looking and look at where Goku’s right eye is. Ha, the school scenes are for the benefit of the audience. Anyone not in the know will need them to keep up with the story. Like Goku, we’ve heard all this before, so it’s boring. The light tables look like a nod to the new Microsoft smart table. You can see a more detailed use in the “Quantum Of Solace” James Bond sequel. You can point to things displayed on the table move them around set smart devices on the table and hand off files, pictures, or what ever to the portable devices. All necessary to move closer to a paperless society.

NO critic seems to remember that Master Roshi set Goku and Krillin down for class time, especially math. Which Goku hated! Gee a lot of people must’ve missed that episode. Home schooling is practiced in a lot of places, extra emphasis on institutional learning is for the newbies.

I’m very dissapointed with these new images of DB Evolution.
The trailer was acceptable, even starting to look good. It give me some hope about the final result, but this…this is horrible, really, really bad.

I love the way everyone says Goku isn’t white, I don’t know where they get that from. If you look at the cartoons, most the starring characters look anything but Asian, they look very white. Animé artists generally like drawing more western looking characters, it’s not new and shouldn’t be a surprise.

And besides, the character Goku is a saiyan which pretty much cancels any earthly territory anyways.

The movie did well to cast Justin.

another idea missed by fox, is that the unkept hair the animal instict to want to eat all the time, there is a reason why goku is not in school in the anime, and its not cause he’s not a social character its because it sets the tribal setting of his original race, goku is suposed to be a nappy haird boy, and doesent know what manors are, but thats where the climax settles in, and the audience is left wondering if thier is something that makes him special form being a rude obnoxious kid. thats why i think that fox has changed every aspect of the dragonball story, and therefore shouldnt include any reference of db in its name, especialy the name of characters, fox you suck. Guys, this is an adaptation. Don’t get me wrong, I wish they kept everything from the anime and incorporate it into the movie but it is simply not possible. Besides think of the movie as an alternate universe. We’ve seen comic book and cartoon adaptations on the big screen before and we know we can’t expect everything to be exact. So if the movie makers wanna throw Kakkarot in school, let them. And here is what I think about the pics. In the preview, the moon is eclipsing. Now, what does Kakkarot need to transform? Since there are several signs of the “prophecy”, they must be discussing one of the many abnormalities occuring during Pic’s rise to power. Well that’s what I think and I also back up the idea of having a chat on the site. That would be fun.

I love DB, DBZ and DBGT and I’m sure I’m not going to be disappointed about the film.

Well it looks like Fox is pressing on in their quest to be jackasses. It’s a pity that Dragonball is in their grubby little paws. This whole thing going on with The Watchmen has got me disgusted with Fox.

It is even funny how all the great stories get adapted into a higshchool teen movie. ? oh yes so many of our favourites have been turned into highschool movies. I loved the scene in batman where he got mad at his teacher and was sent to detention or the scene in ironman where he graduated with the highest honours. and when bruce banner got picked on for being smart and he hulked out and smashed every one. Those where some great highschool scenes.Wait a minute none of those had highschool moments its amazing how many adapations have been turned into highschool stories.If you’re talking X-men and spider-man think about it the mansion is a school for mutants it always has been and spider-man is just a guy trying to live a normal life and be a hero at the same time just like the comics or shows. I just laugh at people when they talk this rubish. I think DBE will be intersting to see and can’t wait to see how it unfolds its going to be epic!

Why must you keep going backwards? Talk about the real issues DPA instead of trying to tell them to start over with the film. All those Directors you named DPA do not fit Dragonball. James Wong was chosen for a reason. So deal with it!! You can’t tell them who to hire, because they are spending there money and time on the movie. Not you!!!! dragonball isnt about an alian boy in the woods….
when dragonball was first made alians wernt part of the story at all, Akira never planned for goku to be an alian, he wrote it into the story at the begining of dragonball z.
So you could say Akira changed the soul of Goku, as he did many characters many times.
And goku only grew up in the forest by himself till he was 12, then he lived with other people, he was even home scholled by roshi. By the time he was 18 the age he is in the movie he was living most of his life among “normal” people.
Goku going to school doesnt change the story or who goku is. Imagine if goku went to school in the manga, do you think it would change who he was, do you think it would change the overal story?
Also Peter Jackson made terrible movies before Lord of the rings.
Just because Goku goes to school doesnt mean he is smart or his personality is changed.

The 1st pic was with Goku staring at the moon pic. 2nd pic was that Chi-Chi was worried about something or actually at Goku I assumed. 3rd pic was with Goku fighting the bullies. 4th pic was Goku got in trouble by the teacher. 5th pic, this is where people think Goku is asking Chi-Chi out but what I think the scene was about was when Goku had some kinda flashback which made Chi-Chi worried at him more as you can see from the pic.

I was talking about Eastwood, then I made a word games about his famous movie “a fistful of dollars” and Akira, just that (Take those words literally, I don`t believe you pee your pants because you said it xB)

Actually Mr Toriyama received a big money when he sold the rights, but I don`t know what it has to do with that i was talking about.

Toriyama is in the anime the same thing that Eastwood is in the movie history, legends. And of course I envy those freaking geniuses. but… Wong?

Wong already showed his level, I`m not jealous of him in anything. The One was regular to me, but metacritic is more drastic xB

honestly, the only people that seem to be excited for this movie are people on this site.

NO ONE i know in person likes the movie. they all think its gonna suck so bad.

i think its gonna do ok, so far. im ok with the changes they did so far. i like seeing things in a new light. the high school things was one thing that made a lot of people be really negative about it, but w’l se if it really does suck.

im fine with the looks and everything tho. seems realistic enough.

but oh well. so basically im the only one kinda defending the movie in real life. but DAMMIT FREAKIN BE APRIL ALREADY I WANNA SEE THIS MOVIE!!

I was about to comment on that fact RMM. I have friends that are into the cartoons yet no nothing of the movie and it’s release is just around the corner and my heart just skipped as I typed ‘just around the corner’…. I’m so excited!

honestly a highschool kid who happens to be a geek finds out he is the choosen one and has to save the world as he transforms into a mythical giant beast, must i say it, this has power rangers written all over it, not to mention the goofy green faced monster that looks like he has a rubber suit with a rubber sword in his hands does nothing more but compliment the zordon stories.

3 months and 2 days til the movie hits the U.S. and still know trailer in
U.S. theaters. Fox you’re promotion tactics for this film sucks. I really hope
we get a trailer this Friday. Also I hope this film gets promoted with The Dark
Knight’s re-release, that would be awesome.
