A member from DBMB who says he “Wasinthemovie” recently revealed some information to them, which he claims came straight from the set of Dragonball. Spoilers ahead.

This picture was during one of the few scenes I didn’t get into, I really wanted in these classroom scenes because they were all close ups but there was a lot of political crap going on with the extra casting people… anyway…

Goku with his classmates are looking at pictures of the moon which even a picture causes him to go into a trance and almost transforms him. Chatwin has to stare into the camera in this scene.

I was only on the set for the 6 days of Mexico City filming, I wasn’t chosen to go to Durango… more politics, so ya.

He also gave his opinion on the movie, which isn’t too good.

One of the first scenes we shot was Goku’s bike getting trashed by Texas Battles character “Carey Fuller’s” car. Chatwin says in an adolescent voice “Dude my Bike!”, to which Texas looks over at his friend and responds, “Did you just fart?”

So if that sounds like quality writing, then I guess it’ll be ok. Most of the dialog for the first 6 days follow this kind of teenage drivel…

I was lucky enough to be in the movie so I can only pray they didn’t cut me out of anything, I’m a huge fan so I am very grateful I was able to be in the film but from a critical fan’s point of view I’m going to hate at LEAST the opening scenes dialog, because I, and others, were cringing on set….

Of course this could all be fake, as he refers to the character Weaver as “Teto” which is not a name, but rather Spanish for the word nerd. This was a misconception debunked a few months ago.

Everything I saw, read, and heard said no to that. Goku’s “best friend” in this film was a character I had never heard of, in fact I can’t even recall his name right now…. started with a T and was played by a young Mexican actor.

According to TheHollywoodNews.com, Fox will be promoting Dragonball later this week at Comic-Con in San Diego.

I’ve got to admit, I know nothing about this movie, except the fact that Fox are taking it to Comic Con later this week, so expect some more promo stuff to pop up online later.

I’m sure Fox will launch some new marketing materials later this week at Comic Con.

If anyone is attending Comic-Con, feel free to send us anything you may find. Also, a new scan from V-Jump has been added to the gallery. All of the images were previously released.

UPDATE: Unfortunately it would seem Dragonball will not be at Comic-Con, however Wolverine will be.

UPDATE: JPHongUhu posts in the comments that someone else anonymously contacted Christina Inman, confirming the trailer will be released in Japan within two months. As for America, who knows?

We know that a teaser trailer was shown at Cinema Expo 2008 in Amsterdam, but it was never publicly released. Well, now it looks like Christina Inman from Fox has finally acknowledged that and has recently said in an email that a teaser trailer could be released at the end of this month or the beginning of August. Thanks to ANON-UNKNOWN in the comments for bringing this up. Keep in mind she’s not the most reliable source.

Dragonball Movie Blog reader Tallai sent in a set report from the Mexico City shoot which lasted from November to December before moving to Durango in January. Because there are a few contradictions in this report, we are classifying it as a rumor.

There were vaious scenes in the highschool during about the first half of the story. They had 4 groups of differnt extras. The 4 groups were, Outside the school, Inside the school, Goku’s class room, and the hall ways. There were about a good 20 people in each shot. The scene he was in was the outside of the school. This was the first shot they show of the school, Goku was walking in down the street to get to school. He crossed the road, and got to the school. The first few promotional pics were for that scene. How ever there was speculation going around that there was a car crash… there was no car crash in that scene. Either they added it in later I dont no but that was the scene.

Working with the crew was amazing, even though I was only there for 2 weeks I got to meet Justin Chatwin. He was soo comitted to getting Goku right. He, in my opinion, took this movie more seriously then anyone else. James wong was a great director, he just basiclly told us what to do and we all just went and did that scene. I was surprised that for 1 of the scenes there were quite a few blocking mistakes but he decided that the scene was all right. It felt a bit rushed through out those 2 days because we managed to cram in almost 20 scenes in 1 day. Everyone was in a constant rush. I didnt get too meet any other cast member personally other than Justin. I did see James Marsters but I didnt see Emmy any where. James Masters was another one of the guys who made sure he gave 100 %. I cant say much about the sets because it would be breaking my agreement. But I can say that the sets that I saw were astonishing. It felt like these sets took years to make, but in fact it only took a few months. Everything felt like it was in the right place at the right time. The extras were also used as extras in the tournament. We were the audience. They just basically told us that go crazy. Yell as loud as you can!

The promoting of the film wont start for a while. We were told that about late October to mid November we can see a teaser trailer, but hopefully it will come out before. This movie has alot of surprises that no one would ever expect. Working in James Wong’s adaptaion of Dragonball was amazing, and I cant wait to see this movie when it comes out next April.

According to Movieland, the full “draft” we posted earlier by Ben Ramsey was a fake. The fragment (with Ma Fu Ba) we posted, however, appears to be real and found left by crew members in a restaurant.

Again I have communicated with Christina Inman (Manager of the Fox in Mexico) … via mail she said she had received information from the Matrix Fox (20th Century Fox USA) … and they were told that there is no worry because this screenplay will not be the film … it’s false.

I’m trying to contact someone very close to production for their views now, but I do not have a response.

And it is logical what Christina Inman says, if true, Fox had not asked to withdraw from all sites and I have not seen any sites taking them down because the script continues to circulate freely … so they might not worry about a fake circulating.

Regarding the fragment of script that has appeared, I had knowledge of it from a few weeks ago, and it is real, that sheet was found in [a] restaurant. Perhaps the scene was deleted, re-written or discarded.

I’m actually quite relieved if this turns out to be true. While the script was entertaining, it was certainly not the best. Get our opinions on the script in episode 6 of the podcast.

I’ve received a supposed screenplay draft written by Ben Ramsey (remember him?) from a member on IMDB, and made it public here. Be advised that if real, it contains spoilers. I just finished reading it, and it seems pretty legit for an early draft.

Jenova Anime also posted a page of the James Wong script that was apparently left by crew members in a restaurant. Perhaps the scene was rewritten or thrown out, but as you can see it looks real, and contains the “Ma Fu Ba,” a sign that Wong is sticking close to the source material.
